Call ripleys marty spent over his normal 10k limit! Ricci must have had a late first grade on the old big board. Happy to finally see spending more than pre-set limit of 10k, more-so than the player!

Chris Orr MLB, Wisconsin

 

Orr was UW’s vocal leader this season after becoming a full-time starter. He became a vital piece of the Badgers’ pass-rush, which tallied a school-record 51 sacks, in his final year. Orr recorded 11½ sacks in 2019, which ranked third in the Big Ten Conference.

After not being invited to the NFL scouting combine, Orr was able to impress scouts at UW’s pro day in early March. Orr ran a 4.65-second 40-yard dash, a 4.08-second 20-yard shuttle, and a 6.99-second three-cone drill. Had Orr been at the Combine and run those times, he would’ve ranked 13th, first, and fifth, respectively, among linebackers.

Me too. Other than the XFL guy who I was pissed about because I was thinking about our idiotic grabbing AAF guys instead of good UDFAs last year, not one pick gave me a fug this pick. I’m OK with the ex-WVU guy knowing Rhule and other coaches were really familiar with him. I still don’t think he would have been a 1st rounder, but in the 5th, I am very much behind taking the guys who have higher ceilings and just need to stay healthy or have an off field issue that’s not horrific (although Tyreke Hill worked).

Bayless and Bowen/Mauigoa make me feel better. I don’t think any of the others have a chance.

I take pro day times with a huge grain of salt. Funchess ran a 4.47 after 4.7 at the combine. Dantzler this year has a 4.38 pro day or workout after a 4.64 combine. Orr likely runs a 4.8 at the combine and a bit worse on the other two. I think Orr will have a tough time sticking if we are 4-3 with all the DL selected. Haynes, Miller and Smith will all be competing to stay on the roster. Bayless has a pretty open path to the roster. Cooper and Kirkwood, even Roberts aren’t good competition to get to WR4 or WR5.

Also remember OL goes to the combine as a group, so not as many invites to go around.

I'm not sure if Haynes and Miller are going to be scheme fits. If we want to keep a designated 3rd and long pass rusher I imagine they may be fighting for one roster spot between them.

Agreed. When Tepper talks about things you can do to be better than the other teams, this is one of those things. What's an extra $5k-$10k to someone like Tepper?
