The 4th Round Big Board for non-scoffers

Before you scoff, and some of you are frequent scoffers, allow me to read my resume:

ROUND 2:  I predicted that we would draft YGM

ROUND 2: I predicted that we would trade back up into the second round for a DB. (I just thought CB, but Chinn might be that to a degree)

ROUND 3:  I had Chinn second on my big board when the Panthers moved up to get him.

So scoff if you want--scoff away.  They scoffed Benjamin Franklin before he became president, They scoffed Edison before he cured polio, and they scoff me now.

Here we go for round 4:

ROUND 4 BIG BOARD FOR THE NON-SCOFFING FOOTBALL INTELLECTUALS:  This round is set up nicely to grab Offensive line depth.  Do not underestimate Ismael, C/G from SD State. He is the perfect candidate to provide depth at G/C while being groomed to start at C in 2021.  There are a few raw tackles with upside.  Of course, Lynch (a hard-working, high motor, a bit undersized interior DL--might be there, but I am not as high on him as some of you--he is a limited tweener, but the kind of guy who gives you 100% every play.

Somehow, we have managed to avoid the strengths of this draft (OT, CB, WR) and still have done well.  If Robertson is there, take him and deal with his height later; but this is the round to get that developing OL with starting potential.  I would celebrate any of the OL listed below.

1Amik Robertson CB La Tech (has to be the player we are eyeballing now

Saahdiq Charles OT LSU  (good depth T who needs strength and a year or two to compete for a starting gig)

5Tyler Biadasz C Wisconsin  (once I thought he was overrated, but not here--4th round).

Prince Tega Wanogho OT Auburn  (A development OT in the fourth....why not?)

James Lynch DT/DE Baylor  (Versatile and high motor---very much in favor)

Keith Ismael, C, SD State  (Kalil-type center--can play G-underrated--needs a year to develop, has shot at starting.)

Other possibilities

Akeem Davis-Gaither OLB App St  (Good athletic OLB)

Jake Fromm, QB Georgia  (Once one of the top QB prospects, now his value is down--give him 2-3 years as a backup. He will be a solid backup that could become a starting QB in time)

Troy Pride, CB, Notre Dame  (a bit underrated, never going to star--fifth round, maybe)

Bryce Hall CB---He could be in play here.

My pick prediction:  Robertson, CB La Tech because I know we have shown interest.

I would draft: Ismael, C, SD State or one of the OTs.

I’d rather have Bryce Hall at corner - big and physical with the skills to develop into a press CB.

also like Lynch and Ismael.  Davis-Gaither would also be a great pick here.  I’m an App State guy and watched him play a lot...fast, smart, great instincts, and has a ton of heart

What are your thoughts on Bryce Hall?

I like him, but I heard some injury stuff on him.  Sorta like a Bradberry?  I am not sure what kind of CBs they are looking for---To be honest, he is in play here--I missed it.  Good catch.  What do you think of Hall?

Check out Ismael.  I think I like him more than Biasasz or whatever.

Eh I live in Madison so I’m probably biased but he’s a good player. He plays mean. And he’s smart with strong hands. He has the arm length to play guard for a couple years until he can make the move to center and learn under paradis during that time. Like we did with Kalil.

1. I dont think we grab James Lynch after grabbing YGM

2. Think itll be a CB

3. Will not suprise me to be a WR.  We have interest in drafting a WR.  Smoke coming out about our interest in Lamb.  A few beat writer going into last night said we may go WR rd 3.

    • I don't know about you but I have been a life long Chiefs fan for the past 4 years.
    • Sure there's a ton of transplants in Colorado now. But as far as Denver in particular goes the Broncos have also been around for 65 years. Someone moving to Denver is going to be far more likely to become a fan of the Broncos and even attend games versus someone moving to Charlotte and the Panthers. Like I said it's not just one single thing with us it's multiple factors.
    • He's definitely getting better. It's fun to watch.  I've been getting killed for this take, but with the current state of college football, it just takes more time to develop a quarterback. I don't think it's a plug and play position anymore. I'm really not sure if it ever was. NFL offenses have always been substantially more complex than the college game, and the college game has simplified even more in recent years. Many college teams do not have a physical playbook anymore. That's just not the national football league.  Are there freaks who have success from day 1? Yes, without question. But so many of those guys are runners, and so many of those guys tail off. Is Bryce ever going to be Josh Allen? Probably not.  What I am seeing is a guy with complete command of the offense. He's checking into things at the line, making adjustments, and making timely throws.  He goes to David Moore a ton, because Moore is a consistent route runner. Bryce knows where he is and when he should be open. I think the guy with the "super processor" needs to be comfortable in the offense in order to do the "super processing." He doesn't have elite arm talent, and he is small of stature, but if he makes the smart play consistently, and he's willing to throw the ball downfield and not make mistakes, like he's starting to show, he's going to be a starter for a long time in this league, and it's not a position I'd spend draft capital right now.
