I have seen more hope in the last 48 hours than I have seen in years as far as positive team building, good values and direction. The rest of the offseason, meh. This has been great, not perfect but really exciting. Still, going to take some time but I hope this is what we all wanted but haven't really seen yet from the new people. We have just had a dead end direction that put us in a bleak place. Total offseason, kind of one foot still in but this was a nice one foot out. I will side on the hope we are transitioning away from that past now.

For the first time in forever, the last day of the draft looks fun. I honestly don't remember when I last felt that.

In my defense, I know that is a best case scenario.  Also, some of our best defenses ever had iffy starting corners and a great front.  Realistically, I know we're still like a season or two away from that happening, if these guys pan out...  but, with Brady calling the offense, at least we should have fun regardless and run some scores up.

Indeed it would be but we will have the cap to really fill some more needs next year. I would say it would take too really good drafts to get us there.

It all really depends on how we draft. Getting Teddy B was huge for us because we don't have to use a draft pick right now on a guy. Next year if we can draft offense heavy we could reach that goal. I would say 6 wins this year would be our max with what we lost and damage to the cap.

Of those 4 players, only one is proven.  

All of this excitement is based on the 3 younger guys turning into above average pros, which even with their high draft positions is far from a guarantee and statistically unlikely.

If drafting was that easy every team would be good at it.  Don't get me wrong, I'm hoping we have one of those magical drafts where we get 3-4 quality players, those are the types of drafts that turn teams around.

Going into free agency to blow a bunch of money is a quick way to be a bad franchise. We had enough cap to fill need this year but we just blew it on JAG's and short term gambles. 

That leads me to believe the plan is to be really bad for a while(3-6 seasons) while we draft our way to having a deep core.

Not saying we go on a spending spree but keek and kalils contracts are heavy weight right now. FA isn't always a bad thing like everyone thinks on here when you have a good coach.

It isn't and we will have to spend for sure but ultimately a lot of the big "splash" players and contracts end up being less than successful. Smart teams tend to keep very good players.

FA has been over priced lately but you have to find guys there. Can't really rely on 7 picks every year. Not even the best drafting teams do.

No doubt. But making good free agency moves isn't likely to stress our salary cap space. We are going to have a massive amount available in 2021 and 2022.
