Marty was trying to trade back into the first round to get Gross-Matos

The Panthers absolutely tried to trade back up into the first round to get Little last year and Gross-Matos this year. It wasn't successful because trading up into the first round is difficult as hell. GM's don't really want to give up that cheap 5th year for first round picks.

Weird... the Patriots traded 23 for 37 and 71. We had picks 38 and 69. Almost like we had the ammunition to move up into the 20s if we really wanted to but perhaps Marty showed some restraint? Call me crazy. He wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't angling to get a good deal in a trade while waiting for his next pick. Saying he tried to move up for anyone is kind of a pointless statement if we have no context to what was offered.

I know that they tried to get into the first round again. I don't know if it was actually for Gross-Matos but it lines up pretty well.

Lol.

And Jeremy went back and edited his post in his other thread last night where he said we were trying like hell to trade back into the first round for an offensive player...now it’s edited to just say we were trying to trade back into the first round, period. If people actually think Jeremy is a credible source for Panthers info then you don’t operate in reality.
