This is a guy you can get behind and support. High character--unlike Hardy--which is why GH fell.  I will start by learning to pronounce his name.  Do you actually say "hyphen,"  "dash," or is it silent?

Greg Hardy - "Da Kraken!"

YGM - "Da Hyphen!"

YGM is only 22 years old and from Rhule's comments the guy has plenty of room to grow in an NFL program. Greg didn't reach his top weight until I think the 2013 season. I think it was after 2012 he said the staff asked him to bulk up more so he could be a DT/DE. So, it'll take a little bit, but I think YGM can put on more size and continue to develop his skills. Really hoping we landed a good one here.

You are exactly right.  Hardy really started to come on during 2012, and the coaching staff challenged him to add more weight to be able to play inside on 3rd down.  He came into TC in 2013 looking like (and playing like) Peppers reincarnated.

2013 still might be the year we had the very best D-Line in team history.  Drafting Star and Short to go along with Charles Johnson in his prime, Greg Hardy who was starting to dominate, and an underrated Mario Addison as our 3rd pass rusher was hard to beat.  Add in TD and Luke and our Front 7 was unreal.  It allowed us to play a secondary of nobodies (Melvin White, Robert Lester, etc.) and still win 12 games.  And we could have beat the Niners had we not self-destructed.

It truly is a shame Hardy was a POS b/c he looked like a guy in 2013 who was on his way to becoming one of the very best (and highest paid) DE's in the game.  For all his mistakes, Gettleman definitely did the right thing by not signing Hardy long-term.

Hardy was arguably unstoppable at times.

Both him and Peppers were game changers. Their burst off the line was ungodly. Unfortunately both also weird at times and it's why Chuck was probably a better player than both.

Chuck was not even remotely close to be a better player than Pep. He was better than Hardy cuz he could keep his head on his shoulder where Hardy wanted to Murder people on and off the field. Still does to this day lol, hence his MMA appearance. Hardy could've been one of the best D- Ends to play the game, at least one of the most violent. It's a shame.

Let's hope YGM can be in those conversations.

Chuck was a better player and was very constant. Peppers would take games off regularly then show out to pick up stats.
