You must not remember when this team had a nasty D line and went 12-4 with Josh Thomas and Melvin White as their starting corners.

Can’t remember things you didn’t really pay attention to some people don’t know exactly what it takes. If D Line isn’t valued based off what it takes to win and our lackluster D Line play last season I don’t know what’s important anymore. With such a huge potential and a huge need this was a no brainer. Guys we’re playing in the best offensive Division in football Matt Rhule wants to win its not hard to understand.

That should be a whole topic.

Greg Hardy and Charles Johnson, Luke and Thomas Davis had nothing to do with that.

That’s the point my guy you stack your d in certain areas to make up for the deficiencies of the CBs.

2 1sts and a 2nd on d-line in 2 years, yea, screw that.

San Fran went D Line round ONE 5 out of 6  last drafts. I think they’re starting front four are all first rounders off the top I should google but I’m sure I heard that multiple times during the playoffs.

Haha! Glad to see you are in a better mood. Last night you were one foot out the door.

I didn’t want Brown because I didn’t feel like Brown alone could help change the direction of this team. Getting Yetur and Brown together? I haven’t been this excited since drafting Star Lotulelei.

James Lynch will be the pick next! We’ll sign a vet Corner. Quit crying like a baby.

Yeah there are servers vets on the market - Eli Apple, Logan Ryan, Cockrell is still unsigned.  Ryan wants 10 million a year but he isn’t getting that.  Most CB contracts in his tier have been 1 year, 5 mil

They had Luke, Beason, Thomas Davis at LB. Munnerlyn was also not terrible. This isn't comparable, Panthers had much better help in the secondary.

We're replacing Bradberry and Luke with 3rd round picks or later or crap free agents. Go see 2016.

So is your argument that the Dline was fine and did not desperately need upgrading? Both aspects of the D need attention. As has been previously stated you cannot fix everything at once, but a superior pass rush generally covers for mediocre coverage better than superior coverage makes up for lackluster rush or run D because you can only cover for so long and if you ask CB's to do most of your tackling things tend not to work out well.

The thing you wanted to prioritize didn't get prioritized.  If that alone causes you to lose faith in the team when the majority here are very happy with the picks so far, that suggests either uncompromising tunnel vision on your part or unreasonable expectations. I'm no fan of Hurney, and definately want Rhule to prove something at the NFL level before he wins my support, but this honestly looks promising.  I myself wanted more done to address the Oline but they went out and got Okung and now that we're not trying to protect Newton in a contract year coming off injury, I'm willing to alter my expectations about how much of a priority that area needs to be.

Even if we wind up being no better than 2016, that was probably unavoidable anyway given the state of the roster.

Our brilliant coaching staff let Bradberry walk, along with whatever talent they thought they could dump, so we get to eat poop this season. The draft can't stop that. Literally no good reason to get rid of Bradberry, but they did it anyway to clean house. We're going to get slaughtered this season.

This year they are addressing defense. Next year we will address offense and other pieces needed. The offense isnt too far from being a great offense but still needs pieces at the QB, OT, TE spots to be effective. By the 2022 season the defense will have a season under their belt and look really good. Just pray injuries dont play a part. I defintely wouldnt mind lawrence next year but if we get pick 6 -10 next year I wouldnt mind Fields either. Both are dynamic.
