Donte Jackson is your #1 corner

Honestly, the way this round is going, don’t be surprised to see a quality CB available at 69. Wouldn’t shock me to see Mims there too. 27 picks away and still a lot of talent. We took the reigns away from Marty one year too late. If only we had someone else picking 47, 77, 100 and 113 last year. Tons of C/G talent there that we wasted on Little, Grier and Miller.

I'd much rather have a weakness at CB than a weakness at DL. We aren't competing this season anyway. This draft is about building a foundation for the future and the best way to build a foundation for a football team is to build strong lines.

Oh poo we agree on something today..

Just lost all faith in this team. You cannot go D-Line TWICE in the first two rounds after the #1 cb FA and arguably the greatest MLB all time retires.

James Lynch will be the pick next! We’ll sign a vet Corner. Quit crying like a baby.

our Starting MLB is on the roster right now and its Shaq, I don't know why people can't figure that out.  We signed a LB and have a couple of young ones as well, so while the Luke retirement is bad, our front 4 were just abysmal, we cant trot those guys out again, we were record settingly bad on defense against the run, a LB or corner wont fix that.  We do need Corner, but theres a ton of talent left at corner and we could also dip into free agency if needed.  Stop the doom and gloom, we solidified our front 4 for the next 4 years.

I don't expect every problem fixed. I want to see an attempt to not field a record-breaking defense... FOR THE OTHER TEAM.

How is shoring up the d line with the first two draft picks not an attempt to field a decent defense?

the draft isn’t even halfway over and there’s still time for other offseason moves.

Best way to fix many glaring holes in our secondary is to fix the defensive line.  When a QB no longer has time to dance around in the backfield for 5-6 seconds at a time and we are no longer getting ripped for 5-6 yards every time a running back carries the ball, the corners become a little less important.  Everything starts on the front lines and crumbles from there, look no further than last season to see how that worked out for us.  Will we get burned deep from time to time?  Of course but with these two beastly run stoppers we won't have to worry about getting gashed up the middle over and over and over and over and over all game.  Not sure HOW in the world anyone could be upset with these two picks.
