Round 2 Pick 38: Carolina Panthers select DE Yetur Gross-Matos

Of the 32 geographical locations this young man could have gone to, outside of Dallas and NOLA I cant think of a more ill-suited fanbase to say this guys name.

Myself included, the accent alone makes it impossible to say with confidence.  I have ears too.  I hear the way it sounds when I say it. It comes out like "Yeet-er Gross Muh-toes.  Rough start, clears up in the middle then just falls off the rails at the end.  

Just to be absolutely clear.  Its ME, not him.  I doubt I'll ever try it in public.  Maybe "That Gross kid?" or whatever his number is.

This is ELITE! We got two friggin 1st rounders in this draft. I expect Yetur to be a double digits sack guy for us year after year playing alongside with Burns and Brown.

Not the best highlight from him, did like what I saw as a inside rusher In this game but he got washed out the play completely a handful of times and his pass rush is going to need Some tuning, also that get off needs work

He was constantly getting pressure and running sideline to sideline tackling. Kid is going to be a stud here.

He needs to earn a nickname rather quickly.

What I read about YGM prior to the draft was that he was an unfinished product and would need some coaching up still to polish his game.

I love what I've seen of him and lots of analysts and draftniks think he walks in as a day 1 starter already.... sky's the limit.

Pretty happy with the pick from a football perspective, but not clear on why he keeps being described as a "high character" player when a primary reason he fell to #38 is his involvement in an ugly hazing/bullying scandal.
