Is it down to New England or backup for Cam Newton?

I don't think trading a 5th rounder for Kyle Allen would negate them potentially signing Cam, especially if they've made the decision to part ways with Haskins.

I think they give Haskins this year to see what he has being that they just spent a 1st on him, and the owner is very high on him

Washington is a no go or they would have already made a play. Ron is not going to give up on the guy they just picked first a year ago and the owner disentangle seem to thrilled with that either. Raiders I could see, but they signed Marcus M, and seem content rolling with the two vets in place

You underestimate the level of disfunction in Washington.  All that has to happen is Snyder get a stiffy to have Cam.  It will be Jeff George all over again.

It's not likely, bit I wouldn't write it off.  Especially with the problem they have had with attendance.

I pretty much never predict what Dan Snyder or Jerry Jones teams are gonna do. I'd throw the Raiders on that list too, but drafting the fastest player on the board is generally a pretty safe bet for them. LOL!

Astonishing absolutely nobody wants to take a gamble on him.

At this point, can they even sign him without and medical exam?  I don't know how that stuff works and I know he got one in ATL the day before we cut him, but I'd venture to say no one has signed because they can't even see him in person.

They traded for Foles and have his huge contract.   They won’t sign Cam

Umm, it’s a tiny backup type contract. Did you see the restructuring? It’s a 3 year $24M deal. Cap hit year one and two are under $7M. It’s easy enough to swallow as a backup contract. Keep him for 2 years and his dead cap in 2022 is under $4M. If you dump Trubitsky for Cam. Foles contract is not a problem.

I get the physical part, but it didn’t stop the colts from signing Rivers, Tampa from signing Brady, Raider from signing Mariota etc. they all had physicals before signing a contract.

Those guys were all healthy coming into it.  Cam's a different animal with his history.

True but they were able to get the team staff and doctor together to do a physical, so the same could be done with Cam. He passed ours, and if a team was genuinely interested it should be difficult to get your team docs to check him out and get his medical records

Cam won’t sign until May so he doesn’t impact comp picks and everyone knows where they sit post draft. Unfortunately, he won’t have time to impress so he’s going to have a difficult time.

I didn’t think he counted being that he was cut. Also I think the Bears signed Foles to push Mitchell Trubisky and give him one more year to prove himself or move on. I don’t know if they are willing to cut him and have Foles back up Cam this season. Next maybe but I don’t see it this offseason especially with camps possibly being cut short. I could be wrong though
