I agree that Samuel has the potential to bust out this season.  Hurt most of his rookie year then Cam was hrdly healthy after that and then got stuck with backup QBs throwing to him.

FYI, Samuel swears he runs a sub 4.3; says that combine run was a slow time for him.

Exactly man, I honestly think he could have broken out last season too but he was stuck with Kyle Allen throwing him the ball lmao.

How do you know this.. He's 23 years old..

Rodrigue and others have said they don't see us extending him.  As much as above avg cost, his injury history.  Other contacts such as Moton and Moore are more important

The Panthers are not shopping Curtis Samuel. They are, however, getting calls on him from interested teams through this afternoon, sources said. Between fit they see for him in Joe Brady’s offense & how much they like him, offer would have to be really good to even consider.

This is from Jourdan..

Trade him. Take James Proche from SMU in the 4th or later. Rhule and Brady better not be drafting a WR in the 2nd and 3rd tonight. They didn’t want the best WR last night, don’t give me the 7th or 8th best WR. You gave me Derrick Brown, you better go get me Yetur/Epenesa and James Lynch. Beef the damn line.

If we were to dump a guy who has already proven he can play in the league and is only getting better for someone the same damn age with no proof they can play in the league sell the team. Yes we have holes but why create another one? Samuel won’t be huge money as a free agent unless he goes insane this coming year and if he does we pay him accordingly. Moore and Samuel are our future WRs for what should be the next 5+ years. The Jeudys and Lambs are long gone

Again, the irony.  If this WR class is all that (which it is) why would teams be looking into Samuel, which some on this very board has said is garbage?  Why not take a guy and get a full 4-year deal out of him instead of trading for a guy they will have to give a new contract to after next season?

You are asking too much to have these folks do some critical thinking.

Regarding a report that teams are calling the Panthers about a possible trade for wide receiver Curtis Samuel, a league source tells me Carolina hasn't had any discussions about trading the 2017 second-round pick out of Ohio State. Samuel is coming off a career-high 54 catches for 627 yards and six touchdowns. He also is entering the last year of his rookie deal. With a deep wide receiver class if a team were to offer extra draft picks that might be something Carolina would have to consider.

So instead of the drafting the 7th or 8th best WR to replace Samuels you're going to get the 14th or 15th best WR?

I think Curtis Samuels value will only go up, this year could be his literal first year with a legit QB. No more injured Cam, or Tyler Heinicke, Kyle Allen, Will Grier throwing him the ball. Also, he fits Joe Brady’s system greatly and we need multiple WR’s for Brady’s system to truly work. Also, Curtis is only 23 years old and with a breakout season this year his value could sky rocket. And if we potentially were going to trade him we could do so before the trade deadline this year after he increases his value more this season. If we are consistently losing this year we could trade him and get more assets or if we are doing decent we could maybe resign him and lock up our elite WR trio for the next couple seasons.
