Another Report: Teams calling Panthers about Curtis Samuel

In my opinion I think Samuel is much better then he’s given credit for. He’s an absolute burner with 4.32 speed, he’s most importantly dedicated to improving each year. And none of our Quarterbacks have been able to throw a deep ball his entire time here except when he was a rookie where he got hurt. Only reason I would trade him would be due to his contract being up after this season, first or high second pick minimum for him idk what haters see but I agree with Luke Kuechly he’s special.

top half of round 3 or better and I'm for it. Lots of good replacements to be had on a new contract.

Also Samuel has had bad QB play since he got drafted. This might be his year to really shine. I really like his upside as WR3

samuel will do really well with a coach who can scheme him open. maybe that's brady, I don't know.

he's been kinda wasted with the 1994 routes and like one end around a game.

They may not but that's what I would hold out for.  If not you keep him.  He's got talent and is cheap.

Samuel was definitely the victim of terrible QB play last year on multiple occasions. 

Easily had roughly 250+ yards wiped away with piss poor throws

Because we'd have to pay him next year. If we were sold on him, we should've been trying to extend him this off-season if possible.

I want draft capital this year as well. I wouldn't take less than a really early 2nd round pick + more... I like samuel, and i think that if we trade him it creates a need, we shouldn't do it.

I agree that Samuel has the potential to bust out this season.  Hurt most of his rookie year then Cam was hrdly healthy after that and then got stuck with backup QBs throwing to him.

FYI, Samuel swears he runs a sub 4.3; says that combine run was a slow time for him.

Rhule likes taller receivers for 50/50 balls and red zone.  At this point in the draft other teams may prefer a ready to go player than unproven rookie.  If we could essentially exchange Samuel for a 6’2”+ receiver like Claypool,Edwards, etc. and add more years on a rookie contract, I could definitely see it happening.
