Another Report: Teams calling Panthers about Curtis Samuel

This is one of the most talented WR drafts in a while so if they get a good return like 2nd or high 3rd I wouldn’t be upset. I’ll even take a pick next year being that we are at least a season away from being able to compete (it will take at least a year to get our defense at a decent level)

He definitely has talent and untapped potential, but it all depends on how he fits in our long term plans. If we don’t plan on re signing him, or don’t see a fit with a new contract being that we have a big deal for Moton coming up, it would be better to get a high pick this year with as deep as the WR class is and get another cheap 4 years.

Again, the irony.  If this WR class is all that (which it is) why would teams be looking into Samuel, which some on this very board has said is garbage?  Why not take a guy and get a full 4-year deal out of him instead of trading for a guy they will have to give a new contract to after next season?

I agree with your sentiment, I just don't see any team offering a pick earlier than a mid 2nd.

Yeah if we could get an early 2nd for him and just take Mims that would be great. Doubt any team would give more than a 3rd though, and for that or less we should just keep Samuel
