2020 Draft Day 2 Options

if I had to bet I’d say we’re taking a corner, I’m just making the case for why it should be the absolute best player. Especially given the bust rate on the cbs

Our current secondary is

Donte Jackson
Cole Luke
Corn Elder
Tre Boston
Juston Burris

This is without a doubt the worst secondary in the NFL. We need to take a DB at 38. Thankfully we've got Xavier McKinney, Kristian Fulton (weirdly dropping - maybe he interviewed poorly - failed a drug test in the past), Jaylon Johnson, Ashtyn Davis, and Geno Stone are all on the board.

Yeah but by 2021 they might be better and ready to compete.. Instead having 20 wr and still no CB next year..

I'm just saying.. For 1 actual offseason they did put considerable effort in looking at the WR position.. Is it wise to really put this much resources into 1 position??

Don't be surprised if Hurney doesn't take any of the top CB, word is he likes Amik Robertson out of Louisiana Tech.

In all likelihood they go cb and I’m not mad at it, and in a logical world were you don’t let cam walk for nothing There would be no doubt in my mind. 
 

That being said I’d go for the sure thing over the maybe cb. Fill it out next year via free agency or draft. 
 

next year we either draft a corner or quarterback with the first pick. Probably quarterback tbh

Honestly the de’s are enticing too. 

I know it’s very unlikely they take a wr there probably in the 3rd or 4th(I’m guessing we’re going to pick another dline man within the next two rounds) but I’m just playing devils advocate for the scenario

This would be an excellent opportunity to trade down if the run on corners continue. Just hope we don't trade up or pick a skill position player, there's still a lot of top tier defensive talent on the board ... DE and S in particular.

I dont know how we dont go corner with the need, but man there are some good strong side DEs left.  Weatherly scares me. 

Still i think we go SEC with either mckinney, diggs, or fulton, if available. Delpit seems to do the same thing tre boston does so not sure we would or should draft him. Unless we are doing something different with our defense. 

Also, wouldnt be shocked if a player Rhule is familiar with is selected. Mims, temple C, etc.

We can get a really good S or CB without trading away picks to move up 2 spots. We good.

A strong side Defensive End pick would be nice. Although, grabbing a center/guard would be good here

I mocked CB in 2nd but the top ones are gone in my opinion so better value at DE or DL in rd 2.

We’re in the group of CBs that are hard to separate but I like J Johnson best if we go CB in 2.  Robinson, L Jackson, Neville Clarke in later rnds could still start for us since we have zero CB right now.

If we're basing that pick on value.....it will be hard to pass on Epenesa too. Doubt we do, but man......

I agree that we should take the best CB on the board, but Epenesa or Yetur Gross Matos would be great. From the limited digging I've done, Yetur Gross Matos seems to have the higher ceiling, but Epenesa is more polished today. Is that the general consensus?
