He was actually on par with the Top DTs the year he signed it.

 

The next year, week 2-3 he randomly showed up on the injury report with a shoulder injury.  I pointed it out on here and everyone just brushed it under.  Played poor, was on the injury report the rest of the season.  Then the next year (this year) week 2 he was done with the shoulder l.  I think his shoulder has effected him for 2 years.

Worth noting the team just finished a season with a historically bad run defense and people are angry they didn't bolster that run defense with a linebacker or cornerback. Truly a bastion of galaxy brains on here.

Most people disappointed by the pick are ardent fans of Clemson. How can you possibly watch Brown and think he has a low ceiling? That's like saying Burrow has a low ceiling.

Kevin Steele who was Brown's defensive coach at Auburn (coached in the NFL too..here) said Brown was the 2nd most talented defensive lineman he's ever coached.  The other? Reggie White.  I say that's elite company!

This pick helps the D at every level. Love Simmons, but would be the cart before the horse. If Brown can actuate KK and Burns, with a year of NFL conditioning and a regime that fosters opportunity, develops into the end he’s capable of, we can have something special.
