right but doesn't have anything to do with person's tweet being misunderstood

No. Just throwing that in.

Granted, Tepper could extend him but I'd like to think that would have already happened if it was going to.

(plus I don't wanna throw up)

Baylor players, no, but big 12 players who wrecked Baylor and players Rhule tried to recruit out of HS, probably.

College coaches have certainly developed the stigma of overvaluing things they shouldn't.

Marty has got to be resolute enough to do the job he is being paid for.

Floyd Reese once talked about how personnel guys groan at coaches getting involved in the draft process because coaches have a tendency to get attached to players over highlight reel plays rather than evaluating the entire game and seeing the big picture.

Any of the picks Hurney makes ends up like this.

you mean outside the first round?

Hurney has been pretty good at drafting. it's up to the coaching staff develop these guys. he can't hit EVERY pick. look at the Pats, bad drafting - great coaching.

I hate Hurney and am ready to move on but these comments don't make sense.

I mean I'm not saying it's a universal thing, coaches can certainly earn the right to heavily dictate the draft process, but Rhule is a vastly unproven commodity and fair or not the way the assembled his coaching staff doesn't say to me "now this is a guy who doesn't care about personal attachments."

Hurney is probably the best first round drafter ever so I don't get the hate

Look at his record after the first round, especially from 2009 forward, and it's not that hard to figure out.

Take 2011. We got Cam Newton... and nobody else. Not a single other draft pick that year was worth a thing.

You can get away with mediocre drafting if you're good at free agency (the Patriots certainly have). Marty isn't.

Zero chance it comes down to Hurndog "making a pick".

Tepper has lead Rhule & Hurndog through every iteration of scenario analysis possible and their reaction to each and every scenario is predetermined.

All that's left to be determined is which scenario is present when it is time for the 7th pick.

Ditto subsequent picks.
