REPORT: per Jourdan Rodrigue, there is a high likelihood Panthers attempt to trade back from #7

I don't have any idea what it ia you're referencing but im very confident telling you that the rate at which mid round picks develop into marquee superstars isn't worth sacrificing a marquee superstar for

You are working off the assumption that the #7 pick is guaranteed to be a marquee superstar, which based on history is false.

You are assuming that you are trading a 100% chance for a 50% chance + 10%chance.

If we tradeded back like 8 spots that would give us a mid 2nd.

So in reality your trade would be more like a 60% for a 50% + 20%

Did you know that Blacklock (DT, TCU) has a father that played pro basketball, sorta?

Oddly enough, someone posted up a video of Burrows and Becton playing basketball. Both were pretty good. It was hilarious watching Becton play C in high school though. Dude was so much bigger in every way than everyone else. It was hilarious. Like what were they going to do to stop him? Go grab 2 DTs off the high school football team? Whose going to stand in the way of 250+ pounds of man taking it to the rim? Not I, I don't have a death wish.

I saw where the Vikings might offer their picks 22 and 25 I think? to us for 7 to take Lamb. That sounds like a good deal to me.

Let's assume this is true.  I'd take.  I know some say it's too far down, but let me explain.  There looks to be a run on OTs this year.   Wills is the only prospect...to me, that's a can't miss.  For value, either Ezra Cleveland and/or Josh Jones will be sitting there at #22.

Next, Jaylon Johnson's popularity is is skyrocketing.  VERY real chance he's gone at #38.  Pick Johnson at #25.

Then we go DT in round 2.  I'll take that.

Per Jonathan Jones  https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-draft-2020-falcons-browns-trade-in-play-lions-gm-and-coach-differ-on-who-to-take-and-more-insider-notes/

The Panthers are going defense at No. 7. No question about it. I believe the pick is Brown if he's there because of the need for more interior disruption in an NFC South with Matt Ryan, Drew Brees and Tom Brady. If Brown has been scooped up, Carolina still feels comfortable with Okudah, Isaiah Simmons or C.J. Henderson. I believe the Panthers might be willing to trade back with a team like the Browns at 10 or Jets at 11 but not much further.

I know Jones worked at the Observer and covered the Panthers but was he very connected? I’m not sure how “in the know” he is.

Smoke screen for trade offers.

All scenarios are good

Honestly, I'm kinda shocked there haven't been more pre-draft trades.  I mean SF and Indy had one, but with technology and all the snafus that are potentially going to occur, I would think that GMs would want to get these things hammered out before the draft than to rely on things during the draft.

    • Kraven has awful shitty comic book movie vibes all over it. It's just more of whatever studio owns the rights to the Spiderman set, but no longer actually has Spiderman anymore. Wicked is probably no more enjoyable. 3 hour long musicals are tough to endure.

    • The Giants games are an interesting comparison for sure. We could compare the Chiefs vs the Bucs as well, since at least both teams are largely the same as they are now, rather than the Giants whose coach lost his mind after losing to us. 30-24 KC in overtime. Hunt had 106 yards and Mahomes had 291. Baker threw for 200 yards, but 2 TDs. Their leading rusher had 25 yards or something. Our offense outperformed what the Bucs did vs KC, but being a division game we won't have the benefit of being overlooked. If our D plays how it did in the 4th quarter I think we can get some stops.  Can Bryce carry a second game? I'd rather not find out and have Chuba carry the load, but we'll see.
