Why aren’t we talking about drafting an OT more?

Still hate that Trai Turner trade. If we had Trai Turner.. Draft a stud OT, Trevor Lawrence next year. Start building defense post Lawrence.. My personal fav OT is Andrew Thomas. Watched him at UGA and he neutralized any SEC pass rusher for 4 years. He’s not the sexy OT, but I think he’ll be the best

Imo one stud DT isn’t going to matter when your DE, LB, Secondary is still trash.. When a team is this bad, you need to have a game plan instead of fixing random parts of the team in no sequence. Just wish we’d prioritize the O-line first, then defense

I don't hate trading Trai. He had really underperformed since getting that big deal. I do hate trading Trai for a bandaid of an aging LT coming off of a season ending injury. If you're going to move Trai, do it for draft assets to build around.

They do have a plan, it's just not how you personally would go about it.  The plan is to put a cork in the sieve otherwise known as our defense.  In addition to Brown, many mocks from good sources have us going heavy on defense in the draft.  Instead of making our offense, the 'strength' of the team even stronger, the plan is to actually slow down the other team by investing in the defense so we won't have to put 35+ points every game just to be in contention.

Sure. And have our potential franchise qb we draft next year or the year after get destroyed like Luck, Watson, Carr, Cam. Etc

Certainly sounds like we've already decided to or are at least heavily considering moving him to OG anyway.

I hope we can get something out of him, otherwise we will be sitting on a 30+ LT, project LG in Little, underwhelming C in Paradis, ? at RG and last year of contact Moton. Imagine if Moton, Little or Okung go down. We have to get an o-lineman in the first three rounds or God help Bridgewater.

I get what you are saying, but we only have one first round pick and you have to prioritize somewhere.  The team chose the defense because it is so horrible.  If it were in better shape, I would be on board with an OT.  As it stands, our defense is a dumpster fire and throwing late round prospects at it won't help too much.

That said, I am okay with an OT in a trade down in the first round, but not sitting at #7 when a defensive stud will still be there.

That's why you got Bridgewater. As bad as it sounds, he is expendable in the long run. Start putting pieces together for a competent defense. This one draft isnt going to change us, but it can start to make us competitive again. I've seen what folks say on Brown and they are clueless. He is a dominant DT and will be for years to come. We went to the SB and were 15-1 with guys like Remmers and Oher.

That's exactly why it's not a luxury pick. Our LT is 31 and on the last year of his contract and we're highly unlikely to be competitive this coming season no matter what we do in the draft.

Add in the fact that we havent addressed the line in the first round in over a decade I would say its past time to get this poo right.  I dont give two shits about what guys are saying about little, dude isnt going to cut it for a variety of reasons.   If the plan is "hoping" he can stay healthy and "hoping" he grows into the role then we are screwed.  Draft a damn LT and be done with it.
