Do we have any idea who has more say this weekend? Rhule or Hurney?

It would be organizational malpractice to keep the GM on a lame-duck deal and not even let him make the decision that he's there to make.

Its pretty common for scouting depts to make the picks then fire a majority of them after the draft. In the NFL the scouting dept contracts tend to expire after the draft, unlike players or coaches which are after the season. Reason is that this staff still works for the new coach and they have put in all the work during the college season. To throw that all out in Jan for an April draft would be stupid. All these scouts Im sure work 2x as hard trying to win themselves over to the new coaching staff during this time. None of the scouts are going to risk their reputation by trying to tank the pick or their player report - thats their resume.

So pay attention next week, you will likely see a lot of teams that hired new head coaches make a lot of personnel changes after the draft. Not uncommon at all.

Right. It wouldn't surprise me to see Hurney fired next week. But it would surprise me if they kept him around for the draft and then took the reins from him. There's nobody in the organization better-prepared to run the draft.

Ill give you a hint:  Its not Hurney

Wouldn't surprise me if Tep already has a verbal deal done with GM of the future.  I'm hoping there is good reason we held onto MH this year when we could have fired him after the last draft.  A top GM candidate coming in would explain it.
