Love in the 2nd would make sense.  He is not ready to take over, needs to be a backup for a year or two.

Incredible athlete, great arm, but not quite ready to take the helm

True but recent small school QBs have succeeded quickly into the NFL (Wentz-Allen). If he is your guy, just take him.

At #7?

Yes at 7. We don’t know what’s going on in Rhule and Brady’s heads. We don’t have the resources that they do on these players. We don’t know what they know. If they like Love as the building block and future of the QB, just take him. It’s the reason why KC ended up with Mahomes and Houston with Watson. Three years later and people are scratching their heads wondering why Mahomes and Watson fell to 10 and 12. On draft night, some people were calling those picks/trades a reach. Not so much now.

If the Panthers went through what they did with Cam, signed Bridgewater and THEN decide to draft a QB anywhere in this draft, they will have surpassed the Texans as the dumbest franchise in the NFL.

And it won't be close.

We’d be the dumbest franchise not to draft a qb

You’re absolutely right. That’s how we do it here in Carolina. Throw picks away while other teams actually try to find starters with all their picks.

You seriously that cooked up about a potential 7th/UDFA choice? Good grief.

Starter doesn't necessarily = quality starter. God knows we've seen the smelliest of dumpster fires routinely trotted out at OT by the Panthers over the last decade or so.

My point is that other gm’s are no more successful.  This board just likes to complain.  Hell, Rhule hasn’t coached a game yet and the idiots on here are turning on him already.

thus board has officially become the worst in the NFCS....nothing but a bitch session.

Plenty of teams win a lot more consistently. That makes them more successful. The only metric that matters at the end of the day is wins, losses, and championships. Trying to claim a guy starting for multiple years for a team that doesn't have much success is a pretty weak claim for a "successful" draft pick. A guy that starts for Arkansas probably wouldn't start for Alabama.

Sorry, not buying the idea that Tua or Love are the answer. Bridgewater is here in the short-term. If they draft a QB, what they are indicating is that the entire QB merry-go-round this offseason was a big mistake. I believe they are a bit more on the ball than that. You may not, which is fine.

Signing Bridgewater doesn’t mean anything. Cam was long done. Cutting Cam wasn’t about his health but more about Cam looking after himself and wanting a longer contract which he was never going to get under a new head coach. Bridgewater’s contract for 3 years speaks for itself. It’s basically a 2 year contract. Enough time to draft a QB now to groom.
