History of Bad Blood Between Charlotte and New Orleans.

Every year since 2002 when the NFC South was formed, the Panthers and Saints have played. Many would argue that the Panthers-Bucs rivalry is the strongest, but the Panthers-Saints rivalry goes beyond the two teams. In 1988 Charlotte got an NBA expansion team.......The Charlotte Hornets. I along with many loved the Hornets, we had a couple of good years, and the team was pretty well recieved. Then the sh*t hit the fan. George Shinn, team Owner was involved in a sex scandal, and as a result attendance bottomed out. The Hornet left for New Orleans, and Charlotte ended up with the Bobcats. not only would have have a Sh*tty name. They would end up being a Sh*tty team.

Just another reason why some Panther fans hate the Saints. They want to prove while New Orleans may have the better basketball team. Charlotte will own in football.

I would say the biggest rivalry has to be Saints/Falcons just based on the tradition of it all. Second would be Tampa/Panthers followed by Saints/Panthers and than Falcons/Panthers. Just my opinion.

Saints-Falcons prob. is. they were in the NFC Central before we even existed.

Since cheap shots and chris paul have both been mentioned. Let's not forget about him punching Julius Hodge in the balls. NO can have him.

Everybody has a bad moment or two in their life. I can say Chris Paul has been nothing but good for the city of New Orleans on and off of the field. You can always find him in the community and he is a true leader on the court. After the punching incident I did not want him either but I must say I am more than happy he is a Hornet. Don't judge a guy on one moment in his life. Just think if you were judged on a bad moment that both of us know you have had.

That's the only reason. NFC South is kinda like the NFC East. All the games are big rivalries it just depends on the year but if you got to rank them Saints/Falcons has to be number one. We try and take over their dome and they do the same for us. If we can have only two wins a year I want them over the Falcons. I hate everything about them. Carolina I hate because you all whip us in our digs every year. Tampa I have the least hatred for but their fans really work my nerves. It's almost like all of them of highly paid analysts that never get anything wrong.

As fans of a team whose star receiver has punched a teammate not once, but twice, I think we can all relate.

Those moments certainly don't define who Smith is. Though many in the league don't know it or refuse to see it, Smith is really a high-character guy who has really started going out of his way to encourage and work with his teammates.

The rivalry with the Bucs grew out of the Panthers and the Bucs both being very competitive teams. For most of the existence of the NFC South the Falcons and Saints have not been as competitive....

The paradigm has shifted now, I don't "hate" the Saints - but I HATE the Falcons because their fans for the most part are obnoxious trash. Now that the Saints are coming around, you hear allot more chirping from Saints fans... so it stands to reason the Saints fans that come to the game here will have a little chip on their shoulder this time around.

The Hornets thing was another dagger, the irony is that Shinn regrets it at this point - it was a stupid move. I personally think they should have been required to leave the name "Hornets" in Charlotte, in-case we ever got another team. That's my general opinion on teams moving - they should be forced to leave the name (like the Browns).
