Do you take Tua if he is there? Okudah over Simmons?

If Tua is there you HAVE to take him. I don't see how we can't... and I'm not even a huge Tua fan but guys this guy was the consensus #1 pick coming into the season. I get the injury concern (I'm a Miss. State fan so even saw it happen live) but with modern medicine plus knowing he wouldn't play this season anyway and has another full year to heal, you can't pass it up. I hope to not be picking top 10 again anytime soon after this year and next. Grab Tua this year, use every other pick on D, grab our franchise LT next year with our 1st round and let's roll.

The guy had a lot of problems and from what I could remember, it went way beyond QB. Didn't his players also have a lot of problems with him, along with management & ownership? His hype was all about what he did and does in the NCAA level and it did not translate well to the next level. Like an anti-Carroll if you will. He had a 9-7 year and then 6-10 and to his credit he realized which way it was going and went back to a system he could thrive in. From his own mouth, he likes the control he has at that level.

Yeah good points.  Agree.

Do you know how many QBs were the consensus number 1 pick the year they were drafted and didn't even sniff the Top pick?

How does this strengthen your argument? Many people believe Tua is clearly the best QB in this draft if you remove the injury. It's not even close to a Jake Locker situation.

If only there was some team in the NFL where he could go to, sit behind a vet for a year, and be coached by the hottest pass happy OC in the game

We just got rid of 1 QB because of injury concerns, and you want to draft a QB who has injury concerns prior to the rumor a week ago that he could be possibly hiding another injury?

I get that Tua is good, no one is denying that, but it doesn't make sense to take a QB with injury problems months after releasing a QB for having injury problems. And he possibly has another injury that requires surgery prior to the upcoming season.

You have to manage your risk, and that is a TON of risk. You could easily do your decimated defense a huge service by grabbing a cornerstone DT, or #1 CB in the same spot. None of the injury concerns.

I'd be ecstatic with Okudah, I agree there. But you don't pass on a franchise level QB. There's also a huge difference between 30 year old Cam injury and 22 year old Tua injury. Not sure why that keeps getting brought up like they're the same thing. Cam has been fully healthy maybe 6 games the past 2 years and is now 30... completely different between a 22 year old who has now had one major injury and multiple smaller ones and wouldn't even have to play for another 18 months if we don't want. I'm not disagreeing it's a ton of risk, but you can't pass on him at 7
