Mike Florio believes Panthers replace Marty Hurney after the draft

Still needs to hire the Assistant gm, which is Hurney and Rhule's decision. Go back and listen to the interviews after the Rhule hire. It was Hurney's decision to hire him. It was approved by Tepper of course but Hurney's decision. 

 

Most likely that Hurney stays on, gets the Assistant gm up and running and then retires or gets moved to a different job.

The candidates aren't available until after the draft.

I agree with what you're saying.  What I'm saying is that unless Matt Rhule has been out there scouting talent, we only have one real decision maker who has been involved in scouting.  That's better than no one at all.

It would make sense but I doubt it happens. For better or worse Hurney is a good yes man and that might be exactly what Tepper and Rhule want.

Hurney should have been releaved of his duties after last year's draft.  Tepper is a year behind on this.
