Best mock I’ve seen

Everyone is so impressed by the positionless athlete that is Simmons. He was used all over the place because he was versatile in an already dominant defence. It seems like a big projection that he will;.

 - have the same impact on a weak roster

-  be used as creatively by his next DC

- have the same success at the NFL level, where he will no longer be able to use his superior athletic traits to compensate for being unable to anticipate.

Although he could very well succeed, at the least he looks like a risk to me at a position of questionable value.

He was kept clean at Clemson.  That won't happen here, not for a few years anyhow until the DL is rebuilt.  I mean Keuchly couldn't even keep guys off him last year.  That was with several former 1st rounder in front of him too.

Simmons would be best served going to a team with a solid DL and lacking a difference maker in the back 7, especially at the LB level.  Here, we lack talent everywhere on defense.  We don't have the luxury to man up everywhere so Simmons has the ability to roam freely.  Anybody that thinks this is the case is 100% fooling themselves.

I agree. He's a luxury player, but we have a historically bad D which has list 6 players. We need the bones before we can add the flesh.

That said if he makes the pick then so be it. Either way we won't be competitive next year. I just think Simmons is wasted here atm a bit like CmC. We would get their best years when we aren't a contender

You sir are very full of hate, maybe learn to not put a space in between every punctuation mark? It really makes you sound like a 12 yearold keyboard warrior. I personally think Brown or Simmons would both be two very solid picks!! Honestly I don’t think you quite understand what a playmaker is, Simmons is the literal definition of a playmaker, he can play nearly every position on defense.

No need for the insults buddy , I bet I have more money then you do, so with the insults out of the way and back to football talk , Simmons is an athlete he’s not a line backer he’s not a safety he is another Shaq he shouldn’t go top 10.we need to build offense this year and what better year then a year with the bets receivers we can get jeudy which will make a bigger impact than Simmons or brown . We have years to build the defense and I think we should have used more free agency to build the defense .

Your a clown, “I bet I have more money then you do.” First off that’s just superficial and childish as hell grow up. I doubt with how simple minded you sound that you ever amounted to anything special. Anyway, bud that is just wrong Simmons is a proven player. He is not a one year wonder he was been playing at this elite level, and he is not just an athlete he is a gifted rare athlete who translated that to actual continuous production. There is a reason he is considered a top 5 prospect among pretty much every draft board. Also yes this is a great year for wide receivers, but if anything that just means we could wait to WR until later rounds due to the crazy depth. Also, any WR we draft will most likely be competing for the 3rd or 4th WR spot regardless of draft position. We have years to build the team not just the offense.

I just really like the idea of landing Okudah if he's there, but Simmons would be a terrific pick as well.

I just think having someone who can lock down one side of the field is so important.  There are holes all over the defense.  Drafting Okudah would absolutely plug up one of them.

You just want a local hero just like all the other Clemson fan boys . This is not Rivera’s team anymore we will draft jeudy or lamb

Just for clarification, the local fanboy is still employed here.  It is, and always has been, Marty Hurney.  That's what scares the poo out of me.   He think's since he has more access to the local guys, he's got more insight on them, especially the 'rough gems'.  This is where you get the Armani Edwards type of picks. To this day I'm 99.9% sure Hurney pulled the trigger on the selection while others in the room were highly skeptical.

Don't be surprised to see a day 3 local product and 3-4 UDFAs, including one from UNCC.
