I don't get the Suh comparisons, Suh was much more explosive.

I'm thinking Dexter Lawrence from last year is probably a safer comp.

The rare combination of size, strength and athleticism.

With the amount of holes on this team, some position(s) are going to get left off.  Have a feeling we'll be ignoring offense entirely after the Robby Anderson signing and then try to grab some OL off the scrap heap.  Weirdly to me, Simmons almost feels like a "luxury" pick.  Love him, would love to have him...but our LB room is in a helluva lot better shape than the DL and secondary. Whatever happens, just hope we find a couple studs in the first two days.

Also see Verge's scenario setting us up to go Simmons, CB in Rd 2...and then the Hurney trade up back into Rd 2 to grab the Baylor lineman for Rhule.

Nice, good work!  @Verge the only difference for me Is I see us taking Brown because how much he will improve the entire defense on every snap. With the signing of Tahir Whitehead and my belief that we play nickel with only 2 Lbs it just makes more sense to me. Thanks for the time you put in.

Unfortunately I think we like Herbert better. Unless we’ve done a tremendous job of keeping any interest in Tua under wraps. Probably no QB this year but who the hell knows...

I’m torn between Okudah, Simmons and Brown. We may have the decision made for us and it’s possible we don’t get any of them. All 3 would be game changing franchise players to build around on D. It’s just a matter of what position you want it to be at. I’m kinda leaning Simmons but it’s tough to watch either of the other two go somewhere else if they’re sitting there.

Makes sense. This is the same guy who truly thought Will Grier was a better player than Kyler Murray

I think pick #7 is too high of a spot for Simmons when you have glaring holes on both sides of the line. Simmons isn't a run stuffer and that Defense would get shredded again. In my opinion, if Brown, Okudah, or either of the Tackles are gone they should trade back.

a trade down to 11-13 range for an extra second rounder. Getting Kinlaw with that pick, then going cb wr/ol/dl/lb in the second sounds like ideal to me

with the depth in this class an additional second rounder would make a a huge difference

things would get very interesting if tua slips to 7

I'm really starting to hope we are one of the teams that will trade back with someone desperate for a tackle or QB. Just a few spots, and still land a guy like Kinlaw, Chaisson, Jeudy or Henderson. Sweeten the deal with another mid round pick to play with.

He does on the football field. Ain't nobody gonna be standing out there on the field with a stop watch or setting up cones to run around in the NFL. If I was drafting a track and field team, I wouldn't want him but I'd love to have him on my football team.

I'm not talkin with a stopwatch, even on tape he doesn't show the same explosiveness as Suh, he is more of a pure power guy.

Don't get me wrong, he is going to be a really good player for a really long time in the league.  He might be the safest pick in the top 10 with the highest floor.

I'm just not convinced he is going to influence games as much as Okuda or Simmons.

Like I said he’s a safe pick who isn’t going to be a bust and we’re desperate for talent everywhere and can’t afford to miss so if he’s our pick, he’s our pick.

He is last on my wish list though.

Tua / Simmons / Okudah or Henderson / Wirfs / trade back / Brown

Brown can play all positions on the LOS---he is more Suh than Donald
