Some steam about Derrick Brown as a possibility for the Lions at 3

hmmmm, I feel like they are where the draft starts and any team that wants a QB has already made the juicy offer. It may not be enough, so they maybe trying to get Brown teams in the offer war.

Draft needs to go and should go Herbert, Tua, Young, and Burrow. That leaves the panthers with Brown, Simmons, And Okudah(unless a trade back).

From what I’ve seen I think Jax is hoping Brown is there (obviously he most likely isn’t getting past us) wonder if they’d move up a couple spots for him.

Chargers could also surprise people and pass on a QB and go with Brown. With the thinking that it would hopefully free up Bosa and Ingram a little bit

Not in that order, just those four are needed for panthers to get at least one of Brown, Okudah, and Simmons. With each passing hour I feel out of them, Okudah will be the player left come pick 7.

I like Weaver. Verge, Do you think we take Blacklock if he is available round 2? Are we high on him? I saw we visited with him a few times.

Yes, I think we would take Blacklock if he was there and we didn't go Brown in the first.

Better chance of getting a DT or DE in the third round in your opinion?

I like Brown and Kinlaw a lot but I feel a lot better about there being a quality DT in the third then I do DE or CB.  I like Robertson a lot, but he might sneak into the back of round 2.

What are your thoughts about where the drop offs in talent are for DT, CB, and DE?

DT depth is probably better in the third. There are numerous tier within each of those positions, but CB has the most talent in the class out of those three.

I think they have been torn between him, Okudah, and Wills/Wirfs for a while now.

Other players we like at defensive end:
Jon Greenard
Alton Robinson
Curtis Weaver
Marlon Davidson
Kenny Willekes

I could be completely wrong, but I really like Marlon Davidson.  He can play anywhere up and down the line.  Seems to fit “multiple” theme we are looking for.

I will tell you one thing about both Derrick Brown and Marlon Davidson...

Combine numbers and prospective NFL success aside, NO ONE will outwork either of those two either in practice or on the field.  High character and hard working and extremely productive at the highest level of the college game.  Now whether or not that translates to NFL success is up to "the best college talent evaluators in the business" like Marty Hurney.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Falcons "continue to be the team to watch" for a trade up.

The Falcons are currently sitting at No. 16. Per Rapsheet, they have spoken with teams "well into the top 10 and appear ready to make a huge leap." GM Thomas Dimitroff famously traded up for Julio Jones in 2011, so we know he is willing to be aggressive if he thinks he is only a player or two away from dramatically improving his roster. Rapoport mentions Ohio State CB Jeffrey Okudah and Florida CB C.J. Henderson as two potential targets

Verge,

Are we sure the Dolphins and Chargers are going to take a QB?

The Dolphins don't have anyone to speak of at QB, and neither do the Chargers. If they weren't taking a QB the probably would have both signed someone.

The Dolphins are basically in love with Tua and Herbert.
