Life is not going to be the same as we've known it.

It would work, especially if they get enough rapid tests to test everyone who comes into the facility/stadium everyday. By July, that shouldn't be a problem. They will also know by then who has the antibodies and isn't at risk.

...and I suspect they will come off faster than expected as well.

The kernels of popcorn would sit there in a layer of oil for a while...then 1 would pop.

Then another, and another...

...all trends start with 1 popped kernel.

Multiple data points indicating sports restarting sooner rather than later are popping up.

That $hit will never work. Pie in the skiers may think so, but it won’t. No way all those people are gonna quarantine for that amount of time.  There will never be an effective vaccine for this, hell the flu vaccine is a damn guess each season.  At some point we are just going to have to go about living.

The season isn't cancelled yet, don't worry about refunds when the owner is worth 13 billion... You will be refunded when an announcement is made.

I don't think the NFL, the fans, or anyone concerned truly realizes how important the (in-stadium) fans are to everything.

Everything has an energy/a frequency. And in sports there is a real give-and-take to the whole experience between the crowd and the players. It's a living organism type of thing.

If they went with empty stadiums, I really think that sooner rather than later, you'd find not many people wanting to tune in - and probably not many players wanting to play.

I doubt that. People are starved for sports right now. Sure, it would be a very different experience watching a game with no live crowd, but it beats the hell out of no sports at all. Players need paychecks too. Maybe a few superstars with very padded bank accounts would grumble or potentially even bow out, but the vast majority of players need a paycheck.

Yeah, there's reason to want to get on the field for players, fans and the league - obviously.

I just think the dynamics of the whole experience won't be fully understood until we're watching the games play out in empty stadiums. It won't be a really enjoyable experience for anyone imho.

Maybe. Last time they wanted to just hold your money for next year and you had to make a formal request in writing to get it back a few months down the road.

The concept of playing "behind closed doors" is getting a lot of traction in Europe for their football (soccer) leagues.  This shutdown happened right as their seasons were getting to the best part.
