It’s looking more likely that NFL season will be cancelled.

I can just see wasting 3,000 tests a week to check people who don't need the money while 3,000 people die in their apartments because testing wasn't available.

Excellent point. We have been at a shortage of tests for months now, yet the Celtics, lakers, nets ALL were able to get tested in moments notice.

Do you disagree that the NFL will be able to get a large amount of testing because of their power and money? I’m not commenting on whether that should be the case or not, but it’s the reality. The NBA got a bunch when there was an even greater shortage of tests than there will be going forward and for all those players who had zero symptoms.

UFC, Pro Wrestling, and NASCAR. The signature sports of the trump administration. Barf.

Actually, football is Trump's favorite sport.  One of his recovery team, Peter Navarro, was interviewed the other day, and mentioned (unasked) that they were working hard on a way to expedite the normalization of NFL cities.

...and as to this 'outrage' that 2 wrestling execs were invited to contribute their ideas regarding the many problems of restarting sports events in the country -- well, they were on a long, long list of those representing All sports.  The snide comments about their inclusion made it sound as if they were alone in being invited to share, and that's misleading.  As in most media condemnations of Trump, it twists a small fact to fit a narrative.

Didn't the NBA get them after the first player tested positive though, right at the beginning of all of this? To me that makes sense. Every team travels weekly, so the infection radius for any individual player is massive. It was worth finding out who was sick to retrace their travel and get them into quarantine.

The NFL doesn't have more power than the world, which is currently short on testing.

LOL, that Navarro interview was a disaster! He looked like a total clown, diminishing the risks, deflecting blame, denying responsibility for the administration, even when confronted with his own emails that stated he knew there was a problem in January.

Only an idiot, or someone set to profit immensely from it, would put the NFL or any pro sport season anywhere but at the very bottom of the list of priorities.

Vince McMahon is known as a complete pieceofshit when it comes to how he treats his employees. He's made billions off of wrestlers that get chewed up and spit out by the WWE for decades. He's the last person you want on any kind of committee tasked with restarting sports events.

2019 deaths by flu in United States = 61,000

flu death RATE = 0.1%

2020 deaths by covid in United States = 26,164

covid death RATE = 3.4%

3.4 / 0.1 = 34, covid is 34x more deadly than the flu. Without stay at home orders and the wonderful job our democratic governors have done around the US:

34 x 61,000 = 2,074,000 people dead in the United States.

That’s without taking into account rate of transmission.

Is Dr Fauci’s expert medical opinion worthy again with the trumpers or is he still on thin ice for insulting dear leader

I get it, you want people miserable and the economy shut down until at least November.
