It’s looking more likely that NFL season will be cancelled.

By the time the season comes around and with the amount of money the league has I think they’ll have pretty solid access to consistent testing for players.

Oh lordy. If you people can't learn from recent history, I just don't know what to tell ya. Because the NBA tried all that. Playing games without live audiences. Testing everyone. And guess what happened? One player tested positive and the season was shut down. Shut down! Because all the other players and coaches,  etc. refused to take the chance to be exposed to COVID-19, for themselves and their families. All the money in the world and consistent testing did not save the NBA season. It won't save the NFL season either.

Maybe your assumption is true, but the second one player tests positive then the entire quarantined space you’ve created is now compromised and everyone who’s come in contact with that person has to self quarantine for two weeks. If there is consistent testing there is no reason to assume there will be real time, Immediate results.

And again, even “if” the testing exists you’re still requiring an incredible number of people to live in isolation for 5-6 months. And that’s just to play without fans. Good luck!
(spoiler: it ain’t happening)

We’ll see how it plays out. Tests can be run in under 24 hours and odds are that becomes faster in the future. That’s enough time to remove players who test positive and isolate them and those who test negative keep on going.

Plus, realistically, things won’t stay shutdown for that long. There’s nothing we can do to prevent the virus from spreading. All these recent social distancing measures are just to slow it down so as to not overwhelm our healthcare infrastructure. Over time, all those who contract the virus and recover will develop antibodies to fight against it and eventually a vaccine will come. There will probably be a second wave and maybe a third but it’ll diminish each time. A ton of people are going to get COVID, many more will die. That’s the reality no matter what we do. We’ll do what we can do and need to do to spread it out over time but most of that is early on and will lessen in time. At some point things will have to start getting back to normal and people will need to be safe and hygienic and careful but still live their lives. I think there’s a very solid chance no fans will be at games this year, which makes sense, but I doubt they won’t find a way to play the games relatively safely.

All we can do is wait to see what happens. These next few months and how the NHL, NBA and MLB handle things will be very interesting.

The NBA was not testing all the players consistently and still isn’t. And they didn’t have any games without live audiences. And it literally came out of nowhere for the league with no notice or ability to prepare a plan. It’s completely ridiculous to compare the NBA now, during the peak of the pandemic, to the NFL nearly 6 months from now.

It’s possible the NFL could still play. I don’t see it happening though.

You should recuse yourself.

Despite the modest pulpit you occupy you are in no way qualified to make such far reaching prognostications.

Oddly, you remind me of a guy named Parcell on the radio who seems to think he's the be-all, end-all in the world of virus adjudication...

...are you him?

Lol....ok

Watch what the MLB is doing, if it is successful, don't be surprised it more leagues follow suit.  Current proposal is to keep half the teams in florida, the other half in arizona, forget AL and NL this season and play games at spring training area.  I could see them combine the AFC and NFC divisions and keep the 8 teams in the same area and spread the games over a friday/sat/sun since there probably wont be high school and maybe college football.  Essentially, Panthers would be in a division with Saints, falcons, Buccaneers, Texans, Jaguars, titans, and colts.  Fill out schedules amongst those teams and all games played at empty stadium Falcons stadium and all teams will stay in Atlanta for the duration of the season.

When people are dying yes the fug you can

Using that logic, we need to shut all major roads down in the United States, halt the economy, and make everyone stay in doors and not drive until we can figure out how to stop more than 90 people per day from dieing in car accidents.

national average is more than 90.

90x365= 32,850 per year die in car accidents.

so should we halt economy over that too?

Mayor of NYC just said that September would be the earliest he sees big public gatherings again. I just can’t foresee a scenario in which the NFL season goes on at this point. No OTAs, no training camp, no mini camp and NY not even thinking about large gatherings until September. Yes, this is looking bad.

It's not going to be cancelled, but it may be delayed.  Peter King was talking about a possible 12 game season.

Unfortunately football is the worst sport for this scenario. Players and coaches alone would be around 50-60 per team, and that's cutting down to the bare minimum. Add in camera men and media, cheerleaders, normal doctors and trainers (not to mention covid19 testing crews) and you're upwards of 150+ people - minimum. The MOST team oriented sport ever created is just not conducive to social distancing.

So you want to shut down the entire economy for the foreseeable future because people getting infected through airborne transmission? How many virus in this world is transmitted through the air or someone “coughing on you?”

Your argument would make more sense if people were dropping dead left and right and body carts were coming down the street to pick up the bodies (Black Plague in Europe). But that is not happening. 65+in age and people with underlying issues are at most risk.

slowly open economy back up and focus your resources on areas that need it ie: nursing homes etc..etc...

but hey, let’s live in fear and tank the entire economy and just stay home for the rest of the year. Masterful plan buddy.

Both are huge republicans - and the McMahon family is very close with Trump. Linda McMahon’s superpac just donated a large sum of money to the Florida Governor who, surprisingly, named fake ass wrestling an essential business so that they can broadcast their live events. Donald Trump is a despicable human being.

Why do you care if WWE holds their live show in their own Performance Center, with no crowds?  Why does it matter to you at all?  They were previously taping their shows with no live audience, now they are just doing them live.  So, what is your problem with that?
