Ah yes, the direction we're moving in.

That direction is having 2 players under the age of 25 on long term contracts.

Good lord, whatever will we do with such mistakes.

Oh you're a madwolf alright.

I mean, if you are happy with what we are doing as a team.....I guess you must have loved the George Siefert era......

But we signed a RB to a long term contract. The world is ending. If you look at these 4 RBs it says it's a horrible move! You don't sign RBs to good deals after their rookie contract because Todd Gurley got his knee blown up.

To follow this logic. You never resign QBs, because look what happened to Daunte Culpepper, he took a helmet to the knee and was never the same.

Also, you don't sign WRs to similar deals because ol dude up in Chicago got bent backwards.

It's almost like football is a physical game, and sometimes health, long term and short comes down to pure dumb luck, and looking at anything in a vacuum will give you a really skewed picture of how things really work.

To be fair, he's not necessarily talking about everything the team has done.

What he did highlight though is definitely a positive

There's lots of things I don't like, but there's this fine line between constructive criticism, and insanity.

Signing your best player to a lucrative deal, with only 1 other player committed to long term, doesn't seem that insane to me.

Acting like the dude is suddenly going to follow Gurely's career arc, rather than Marshal Faulks because he suddenly signed a contract does seem a little crazy to me.

We took a bunch of gambles on largely overpaid young players. I guess that is a strategy. At least it wasn't classic Hurney backended deals that take years to unwind from.

Do you really have faith in these recent Hurney moves, given his overall history?

So far we "overpaid" CMC. Who else?
Please don't say Teddy based on Cam's contract from a half decade ago. That would look extremely silly when you actually look at it vs other QBs signed within the last 2 years.

I have never mentioned anything regarding injuries. I am just against paying big money to a position that doesn't have a great impact on wins and losses. RB is a position that has a lower impact on wins and losses. It is just the way the modern NFL is.

We utilized CMC in the way RB's were utilized in Rivera's playing days. That isn't a recipe for success in the modern NFL. Certainly not ultimate NFL success(winning championships).

In the end, it probably won't have a huge impact because we are rather unlikely to be competitive during CMC's time here. As I said, it is just another sign that we really don't know what we are doing as a franchise.

Stephen Weatherly, Seth Roberts, Justin Burris.

All guys we paid over or waaaay over market value for. Shaq Thompson, as well.

I have zero faith in Hurney, but that doesn't mean I think every single move he makes is the worst possible decision.

I agree with that. Anderson was a good contract, Whitehead was a good contract, Boston was a good contract, etc.

And he is largely not exposing us to long term risk outside of Thompson and CMC.

All of those are since Suileman was added.
