Maybe someone can chime in here with some advice - I was gonna throw down some seed in a few problem spots in my yard and oversees in the back but I did put preemergent down in like early March. Should I wait for the fall for the seed? Don’t want to waste any $$

Yes, I agree with him. That window to start treating your lawn if u live in Charlotte is closing quickly. Cutting your grass high is the right thing to do.

I live in Denver. Just moved in, in March. Grass was pretty dormant and short, and weather was still pretty chilly. Killed a lot of weeds in the back yard. Grass finally grew and I cut it the first week of April. Put some milogranite that same day. Then last week I went with Scott’s southern lawn. Grass has actually turned out greener. I don’t have the best lawn in the neighborhood but the 5-6 houses around me, I have to say that my grass is the greenest. I just have so much clovers and now I noticed that more weeds are staring to come out in other areas in the back yard.

What type of grass? I recommend looking at some YouTube videos. There is a ton of free content that can help you. I basically have had to teach myself this stuff and I am still learning. I’d agree with your buddy, just keep cutting high and have a plan in place for the fall. Milorganite is the best stuff and you are probably good on fertilizer intil July 4th

I did just fix a couple dirt patches a week and a half ago. I did not put any preemergent down in my yard this year so I can’t answer your question. There’s a guy on YouTube by the name of Ryan Knorr. I love his videos. Maybe you could find something from him. He did make another short video yesterday about fixing bare spots

That’s the biggest problem for me at the moment. I don’t have a clue what type of grass I have. There looks to be like 3-5 different kind of grass in my yard. I have watched YouTube videos and googled pictures, but still cannot determine them. My closest guess is that I think I have a little bit of really nice fescue. The rest, I can’t tell.

I love LCN. Dude is amazing. And seen some of ginja. I just recently order a bottle of liquid aeration that Ryan Knorr used in one of his videos. Plan was to try it out but this was before my buddy told me what he did. Have you ever try liquid aeration before?

Nope I pay this one dude every fall to hit my yard with aeration and overseed.

What do you use for grub treatment

I use an organic beneficial nematodes with a hose end spray bottle. Go to your favorite nursery for these- you won't find it at Lowe's I don't believe. It's a powder form of a living organism that will "come alive" when mixed with water. It's a natural killer of grub worms and won't cause any problems for the kids or pets. Not to mention using organic stuff on a yard which has a septic field is far better than chemicals.

Not the one I've used, but it's just a different brand- same product.

And if you're having an issue with the beetles after the grubs have morphed, this stuff will work on plants as well. If you don't care about the environmental aspect, a simple triazicide spray will work.
