You’re the GM for the Panthers who would you draft?

Yea, if it falls that way you have to.  I wasnt saying not to draft an LT in the first, its just when running simulations it makes it hard to find a starter at CB and DT when that happens.

Also if those 3 are gone, you gotta wonder who is there

If a team falls in love with a LT, and they all float up to us at #7, there will be trade offers.

Round 3 Pick 5: Solomon Kindley, OG, Georgia (A)

Round 4 Pick 7: Jeremy Chinn, FS/SS, S. Illinois (A+)

here's mine, i tried to avoid taking players at positions that  i genuinely couldnt see them going at irl. personally i think this is great, im not a huge fan of gallimore but he was BPA in the third and ive heard he could be losing stock so why not with our need at DT. i like bailey and swain as late round selections, i doubt bredson would fall to the 6th tho.

7 round mock draft. Let’s see how each one of us would help the team this year and for the future. Below is a link to one of the more aesthetically pleasing mock draft sites. Utilize it and post a screenshot of who you’d go after if you were the Panthers GM.

Trade all picks for a double the picks next year when Hurney is gone.

I just went with three rounds since I don’t know enough players to make more than an educated guess beyond this. The first pick I had my choice of OTs, and I’d be good with any of the top three or four really. Thomas seems like the best pass blocking LT of the bunch, so he’d be my first choice probably.

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
