You’re the GM for the Panthers who would you draft?

With this version of the mock I focused on defense. I went with players that excelled at one thing. Didn’t have a significant non coach able glaring weakness and also got guys that understood “football” for their position. Coachability and having a natural strength at something goes a long way at being a solid candidate to make the roaster and beyond.

Fan Speak's simulator can be good if an accurate BB is selected and NFL mock draft database is another good one to use.

I just chose this one for ease of use and it looking good. People can use any that they choose I just want more people to show who they favor for the team and discuss from there.

Here is one from a worst case scenario--Okudah, Simmons AND Brown were all gone; not able to trade out of #7 (I'm not a premium member, so I couldn't trade, ha-ha).

7: R1P7

OT JEDRICK WILLS

ALABAMA

38: R2P6

DL NEVILLE GALLIMORE

OKLAHOMA

69: R3P5

S JEREMY CHINN

S. ILLINOIS

113: R4P7

DL LEKI FOTU

UTAH

148: R5P2

CB HARRISON HAND

TEMPLE

152: R5P6

C KEITH ISMAEL

SAN DIEGO ST.

184: R6P5

CB REGGIE ROBINSON II

TULSA

221: R7P7

LB DAVID WOODWARD

UTAH ST.

Drafting an OT early keeps me from taking a corner early.  No way I'm waiting until 3rd round or later for my first DT selection.

Noticed PFF has a sim now...not the best but worth a look...

I just couldn't finish it.  Truly, I gave it a shot, but it is awwwwweful.  Chinn was still available at the end of round 5 and it was saying my best option in round 4 was Hawaii's QB.  I tried 3 trades...all shot down.  I went slightly aggressive-->completely fair-->taking a bath.  Even when I was losing about 100 points, I got shot down and all of them were from teams contacting me to move up.  I realize it is new, but they really have to work on it.  The concept is a little different than others, which is cool, but maybe next year they will have their rankings squared away and use a value chart so the trades make sense.  No way a team eager to move up and makes out like a bandit on a value chart declines to go forward with the trade.  Literally, the last trade I tried to get hosed and still was declined.

    • Hope Koch recovers (he’s stated numerous times he doesn’t like to be called “koochie”) soon. But he does not instill confidence in the crease. I don’t have any confidence in any of our goalies, healthy or not. Andersen when available gives us the best chance to win but he’s never available.    Team has to explore trade options soon.
    • Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
