Ideally I would not be upset if we went for a couple guards in Rounds 3-5 I did one mock and took centers in 3&4 . I wouldn't mind having a utility OL guy

We better draft a guard very early and another one in the mid round. Don’t try to play with me having Little and Daley at guard.

I would love either of them, Wills in one of the best tackle prospects to come out in a while, and Wirfs is crazy athletic and can play any position on the line.

Time for an update from the rumor mill--any rumblings?

Reed (don't laugh) is not bad.  He was with Jax and Norwell was good here, struggled at LG in Jax too--system?  I watched some clips on Reed and he is fundamentally sound.  Does he have the athleticism?  He seemed to be decent.  I think we will address C for sure, possibly G and T.

I am not sure that we have had as many needs as this entering the draft.

Okung and Moton are the day 1 starter. Little is going to have his chance to compete and be the long term left or right tackle. Panthers fans complained and cried a lot about the kid but I like what I saw from Little last year. He was a rookie and didn’t even look close to as bad as Matt Kalil. What we need is not one, but “two” guards. Please tell me who our starting guards are. If Teddy is going to get kill this year, it’ll will be from the interior with Matt Paradis and the unknown guards.

I like Ruiz or Cushenberry in the 2nd round, and I like Solomon Kindley in the 5th round. This gives us a starting center and starting guard immediately. Kindley is a big, mobile bulldozer.

I see Wills as a sure-fire, bet the farm, staple in the NFL for 10-15 years.  I see Wirfs as a talent, but more boom or bust than Wills.  His upside is higher, but I would take Wills at #7, not Wirfs this year.

I used to struggle between Cushenberry and Ruiz--but watch Ruiz more carefully--break it down like this guy did Wirfs and Wills.  Ruiz does not get fooled by blitzes or stunts--able to call schemes at the LOS.  He can pull.  He does not get bull rushed.  He is good at pass protection, great at run blocking.  I just never see him confused or out of position.

When Silatolu was a rookie, I told people that he was a bust unless he got smarter--he was a step slow, sure, most rookies are, but I noticed his head and where he was looking.  He did not understand football.  At DIII Montana State Agricultural and TV repair College Tech, he was great. I did not understand the love.  Then I watched Kugbila or whatever, and he was terrible and Valdosta Onion Academy.  I just do not get what they saw in those guys.

I said in another thread that I absolutely would not be upset with an OT pick and there's definitely draft scenarios where an OT would probably be our best pick at #7.

Long term, we need a T.

1. Moton is in a contract year.

2.  Little has a glass skull

3. Okung is on a one-year deal

4. Daley is probably moving inside.

However, we see immediate holes, not long term rot.  If we grab a T, I will not yell at the TV.  I get it.

Oh, I 100% agree, Ruiz is the better player for sure. I listed him out of pure hope, I believe he is picked before pick 38, and we may then look to Cushenberry

I would go Cushenberry 2nd and Kindley in the 3rd

Great video. Wirfs looks like a freak athlete but needs a coach that believes they can coach him to his potential. Wills looks very good and polished. I would love either one of these guys for us. Both make Little look like a backup.

I am just the poor slob who used walter to find the faults of Little and now I am the bad guy.

Let's not forget about Thomas out of Georgia who will be on the board.  Then there is Becton.  Jets will take Becton or Willis.   We should take one of them.  Our future and Franchise DT will be there next year of the following.  We can survive with depth DT's for a year or two.  Do like you did with Star and KK.  One a Pass rusher and the other run stuffing moose.  KK's best years was when Star allowed KK to go one on one with the Guard or Tackle.

I am going to call Ruiz to the Giants in the second round.  I do not see Gettlemen letting him by.
