It's Derrick Brown, right?

I wouldn’t just assume both Simmons and Okudah are off the board when we pick.

It's actually a pretty safe assumption.  One of them definitely will be gone and very likely both.   If current mock trends hold, Okudah to Detroit and Simmons to the Giants.

Got to go with you this one...there are just as good....not better...but good DT's that can team with KK and give us a good run stopping line and also decent pass rushers up the middle.  They think you need a "SUPERSTAR!"  Tell how many Superbowls Ndamukong Suh won?

Who are they? Who are the 0/1 technique that can play Opposite from KK, stop the run and get pressure up the middle.

There’s a reason Brown and Kinlaw are going much higher than the other DTs.

I think so. In a roster chock full of holes, DT seems like the biggest one to me. Brown is a stud of a prospect that dominated SEC OLs. Virtually every draftable SEC OL said he was their toughest match up in college.

I'm sold.

Yep. DT is way bigger need. I think some here aren’t understanding KK is DONE. He will never be what he was ...in his one great year. He was already sucking ass comparatively speaking to his salary right after he got paid, before injury. Now it will be a Charles Johnson scenario except he is being paid way too fuging much as he always was and he won’t be playing above average.

At this point we can only hope he comes back as an extremely expensive serviceable dline man.

That said the team has absolutely nothing at DT that are going to have opposing teams thinking twice about running it or stepping into a pocket, added to the fact a historically atrocious run defense last year, like set records awful.

Can’t imagine a DB being more of a priority unless Brown is gone and it’s a true BPA. I expect the Panthers to take at least 2 dlineman in this draft.

Let me ask you this

What does Okudah do while teams are running 250+ on us?

Simmons is that nice sexy sports car

Anyone who's watched film will agree.  The tjing that caused Lukes drop off the last 2 seasons was the OL getting All over him at ease.

And you know what our DL has gotten worse.

Simmons has that ability, but let me ask you this

Does a Ferrari break through a Brick wall better than a Toyota Camry?

now there will be local homers that will come up with bu but but he can run around with that speed.  Thats not how it works in the NFL.  This isnt a track race, its a contact sport.  And when teams are running the ball. And the OL blast right through to the 2nd level untouched, all that 4.3 speed means about about as much as how far you can kick a ball.

So why Brown?

He breaks down that wall.

There's a reason why Panthers Defenses took a major step back after losing Kris Jenkins and Star.

Brown is that guy who draws attention and breaks down that wall for the Burns, KK, Shaq, etc.

Brown is that anchor. We need desperately that will help in the Pass D AND Run D.

As I said tell me how many Super Bowls has Shu won?

Brown fits need and BPA. Burns, Brown, KK, and Weatherly make up a decent defensive line and it allows Shaq to run free without linemen swallowing him up. It’s best case scenario. Our defense would be instantly better, we would just need some CBs to top it off.

Brown will be by far the bpa and also fills a huge need.

Best possible scenerio

Who do you see the team going with if both Simmons and Brown are available? I think the team may go with Brown even if both are available. If the Giants pass on Simmons I think he falls to us.

The way I see it, if cards fall into place and we completely luck out (BB last year) we'll get Okudah or Simmons. If not, we end up with Brown which is still a great pick @ 7. Just not in the category of the other 2

So because ONE player never won a SB, no team should ever draft a DT again? Who can argue with solid logic like that. No WRs. Smitty never won one.

Your turn. Who are all these DTs who can do as you described?

Brown is the worst outcome and its not a bad one, My point is he is as bad as it can get for us meaning even hurney can't screw this up. I wouldn't want to spend a 7 on a Nose tackle because thats gonna be where he does most of his work and i feel we can get a plug later.. Earlier I would like to grab the generational talent like simmons or a shut down cb.
