I’m not too in love with the fluff he’s adding on players we moved on from, sounds counter productive.

well him and tepper had better produce a winner in the next 3 seasons or fans are going to be pissed, not that they aren’t already.

Only people who can’t control their feeling and understand that this is a business is pissed. I’m not pissed and greatly looking forward to a new look Panthers, since the John Fox/Ron Rivera days.

I'm not.

I know everybody is intrigued by his potential and all but how many of these "shine in a lesser league" guys have we seen come in and show why they weren't playing in the NFL? (Craig, Gilbert, etc)

Best of luck to him but I've watched this movie before so I'll believe it when I see it.

There was also Warner and Delhomme.  Not saying he will have that level of success...but at this time there is hope.

I get that, but for every one of those guys there's several failures.

Personally, I wish him the best but I wouldn't get my hopes up. The odds are most definitely against him.

Meanwhile, how many 6th year QBs on their 4th team have ended up proving to be legit franchise QB options?

We have two long shots. That's why I'm honestly more excited about the long shot that we know less about.

I'm not looking at Bridgewater as a franchise option, and I seriously doubt even the most ardent PJ Walker fan is suggesting he could be one.

Our next attempt to land a franchise quarterback is likely to happen in the Draft. It's just a matter of whether it's this year's or next year's.

Which was exactly why I didn't want a mediocre veteran bandaid like Teddy.

Who was available this offseason that was demonstrably superior?

(and don't say Brady, you know that wasn't an option)

Would you have wanted to sign Rivers, trade for Dalton, give Joe Flacco a shot? It's not like there were loads of great options.

They were looking for a bridge. They got one, and a guy that knows the system already.

If you're gonna suck, just go ahead and tank. I honestly think Bridgewater is basically Kyle Allen with less fumbles anyway.

If we were going by that final game of 2018, I'd agree. But when he played with the Saints starters last year, they didn't lose.

Given that we're gonna be running a similar system (granted with a less experienced playcaller) I don't think you can just discount that.

We're not gonna have the Saints' starters though. This roster isn't gonna be good and Teddy isn't the type of QB that's going to lift a team up, so why bother?

Well that was gonna be true no matter who we signed at quarterback.

We're gonna lose a lot of games this year. Heck, even if we had stuck with Newton, that'd likely still be true. And yeah, it probably also applies next year as well.

So why Teddy? The true bottom line is because that's who our OC wanted, and I don't really think much more explanation is needed.

Will it work? It could. Don't know if it will, but either way, he's not the franchise guy and I don't believe he's meant to be.

If Cam is smart he won't go on Instagram with a response to Rhule's comments in the interview today.

I think Teddy has a fantastic opportunity to break out to the upside a la Warner and Delholmme.

1st round QB's who make a Pro Bowl are exceedingly rare and the Panthers are fortunate to have one.
