Teddy had a freak injury several years ago and has done nothing but prove himself to be fine.

You can't use an old ACL tear as an excuse when Thomas Davis went though it 3 times and resurrected from the dead.

Davis was the first player to ever come back from 3 acl injuries to the same knee. If it wasn’t for Jerry Richardson TD’s NFL career would have been over. He has gone on record stating that multiple times.

I hope Teddy stays healthy but there is a reason he hasn’t been signed by anyone to be their starter since returning to football.

You assume cam would have played under teddys contract.  $20mil isnt franchise money anymore and considering we can get out next year teddy is at worst a stopgap who has potential to shine with our backfield and wr speed.   I love Cam but he should have played under his $19 million this year to prove himself. Panthers didnt owe him a contract

I don’t need your “luck.” I have a successful business and luck has nothing to do with it. And I know all about hard decisions- one of my first employees was my own brother who I also had to fire. Love him to death but he didn’t bring value to my company.

Luck isn't mine it's universal. Sorry for wishing you well despite your obvious shortsightedness.

Firing your brother has nothing to do with Tepper screwing the guy. Again, Tepper should have released Cam MONTHS AGO instead of after free agency started.

I didn't say we should hold on to Cam indefinitely. I said since the decision was made months ago and telegraphed by "sources" the same "sources" talking about Curtis Samuel, that they need be honest with himself and others, stop trying to fool people and look like a fool doing so. Nobody was fooled and the NFL didn't take the bait.

Bad business, and your brother was probably never your best employee, ever.

You are not getting the point...Cam would have work Right now if the rest of the league thought he could play...

The rest of the league would have had all the access to Cam they wanted if Tepper had released him MONTHS ago like he'd planned. It was stupid to talk about his health negatively BEFORE "trying" to seek a trade.

I catch your drift. You think cam should have been released months ago- but why? I admit I don’t have all the inner workings of the team, but to me it seems that there was uncertainty about whether cam would be sufficiently recovered to be a lock on returning this season. Or maybe they were holding out to to give him more time to recover to hopefully gain some trade value when months ago he was still early in the recovery process. In either case, it doesn’t appear to be a malicious move by the team to release cam now as opposed to months ago. The team has to exhaust all of it’s possible moves before making the very significant move to cut the QB1. In this case, ensuring the trade market wouldn’t send a late offer, having the back up plan in place (Bridgewater), and otherwise having no choice but to go ahead and release him.

Cam will find a new team, I don’t believe he’s done in the NFL. He will just have to prove he’s healthy.

Yes, same reason Cam has not been signed as a starter. Teddy did his time, shined, and now he is a starter.

Cam may have to follow a similar path. Me thinks he'll wait to see what starting QB will get injured first and perhaps sign a one year to prove himself worthy of a long term contract.

I really don't understand why the huddle and panther fans in general have to be split with this.

Recognizing that health and circumstances dictated his tenure with the team, while also recognizing his legacy of fun and success and yes, shared failures with our Carolina Panthers....... isn't that what being a fan is about?

I wish him nothing but the best wherever and whatever he accomplishes in the future.  But I ain't rooting for any other team but the Panthers.

    • What I really learned here is that the Carolina Panthers aren't anywhere near as bad as I initially thought they were earlier this year.  We've got a young and growing offense with some promising parts. But it still needs some tweaks and improvements.  We really still could still use a dominant #1 WR. But Chubba,  Legette, Coker,  and J.Sanders have generally looked decent. Bryce took a big leap after the benching. We can score enough points to keep pace with 2x defending super bowl champions, so offense isn't a huge issue. Main thing that needs improvement is defense. We sorely need a CB 2, and a number of new players at Dline and LB.  We're not quite as bad at edge with Wonnum showing promise.  But we definitely need 1 or 2 more edges Clowney is old.  Run D is probably worse prevailing theme these past couple years. We really need a good young stud or two to pair with Derrick Brown and another LB to pair up with Trevin Wallace. If Morgan and Canales can focus on rebuilding the defense this off-season and possibly going out and getting a #1 WR. This team could easily be somewhere around 7-10 to 10-7 and flirting with playoffs in 1 or 2 seasons. Overall this game has made me feel alot more positive about the direction of the team.
    • With our picks we need pass rush, lb, Safety, a speedster yac wr, o line depth and I still want a mid round qb. We got 9 picks and 8 in the first 5 rounds. If they pull Off another solid draft we be cooking.
    • We had one passing touchdown against the Giants and one passing touchdown against the Chiefs today. Yes a good backup can replicate that. And that is why Andy Dalton in significantly less games has the same number of 30 point outings as Bryce Young. I am on board with you guys about wanting to be hopeful for the future. Today was a good performance to build on especially at home. But let's please keep things in perspective. BTW the Bucs who honestly aren't even that good blew the doors off the Giants today after we went to overtime against them with 17 points. Again. Perspective.
