I’d argue 2013 was a better team than 2015. 2015 was a magical run but a ton of close, lucky wins. 2013 defense is one of the best team defenses in NFL history.

It’s funny how people remember things. The 2013 team won 5 of 12 games by 4 or less. The 2015 team won 4 of 17 games by 4 or less.

The 2013 team had a better D but the offense was far worse. The points differential was +125 for 2013 (+192 for 2015) even though the 2013 team gave up 67 less points. The 2015 offense scored 134 more points, 8+ more per game.

We can stop dissing the 2015 team. It’s the best team we’ve had.

its all about matchups and not simply numbers. the 15 team had a tendency to let teams make it close in the 2nd half and I think 03 team could have taken advantage of that. 03 team scraped and clawed their way to sb 38 and i think it affected the way the game unfolded. 15 team got punched in the mouth and never recovered.

That’s tough. 2003 we had Moose, Steve and proehl... defense people discount Ricky and the bunch and we had John Kasay— yeh I know,. Defense with Chris Jenkins leading with the most blocked field goals I’ve ever personally seen,.. damn every single extra point or field goal I expected Chris to blow it up.  Jake made magic too...

2015 was all about Cam Newton, Greg Olsen, Luke Kuechly, and Josh Norman against the world.

both teams should have won their Superbowls and had clutch breakdowns at the end to lose them.

for me though that 2003 team would have won...

And for the record... the 1996 team had more magic than either one of them— they had to go where no expansion team had gone before...

Dont forget what the 1996 team had to do and who they beat to get there,..

Steve Young and THE Frisco 2 years after their Super Bowl TWICE... Dallas with the big 3 in Troy, Emmitt, Dion Sanders after he won 2 Superbowls in a row....

Then they had to face a challenge then that the 2003 and 2015 teams didn’t have anything close to.

Green Bay in Lambeau when it had been a million years since anyone beat Green Bay there against MVP Brett Favre, Reggie White, Dwight Howard Super Bowl MVP and the rest of one of the most dominant teams of the last 30 years(in one season)...

03’ was better. That Super Bowl should’ve been ours if Kasay didn’t kick the ball out of bound. And the cheating Patriots were taping our practices.

2003 our team was using steroids ha. It’s irrelevant. I do think the team was better in 2003 even though Cam, Luke, TD and Josh made the 2015 team better on their own.

I still think 1996 proved they were better.

they had to beat San Francisco twice, Dallas and then play Green Bay in Lambeau. And that’s back when all of those teams were Super Bowl teams,...2003 and 2015 teams didn’t have that type of challenge.

03 team beat the defending Sb champs 2 times that year, in 2 totally diff fashions.

The 2003 team beat 'The Greatest Show on Turf' on the road in the dome.  The 2015 team beat a good, but not great, Seahawks team in Charlotte and a Cardinals team that heavily limped into the playoffs. A lot of luck and fortune went into that 2015 team.  It must have been the year of the black cat because we were winning the close games instead of losing them.  That said, aside from two games, we were in a ton of tight contests.  It really was our year, but the team was far from dominating.

The 1996 team beat Steve Young’s 49ers who were all but unstoppable 2 times,.. probably cost them the Super Bowl that year since they didn’t get a bye and had to play Green Bay in Lambeau. Not many remember just how good those teams were

Oh Greatest show on Turf... a great team and our 2015 run through Arizona and Seattle— very dominant teams was nothing to laugh at.

i still think 1996 having to do it as an expansion team in their 2nd year with a 2nd year headcoach and “no man has gone before” territory trumps both
