Could Jeudy or Lamb be the pick at #7?

Games are played on the field, not on Madden.  This also isn't 7-on-7, so OL and DL actually matter.  Atlanta and Tampa had the deepest/talented WR corps last year and neither finished above .500.  I'm not getting this stack the deck mentality at WR considering the roster is full of holes.  Taking arguably the most complete position on the team, making it even stronger while other spots barely have starters makes no sense to me.

Tampa had one of the best defenses last season. They didn’t finish above .500 because their QB Jameis Winston was Stephen A. Smith’s defensive player of the year. They would’ve won at least 2 more games if he quit throwing interceptions.

I do not see this in relation to what we did in the free agency.  I put this together so I could see it:

Wide Receiver

Notes

Percent chance of making roster (IMO)

DJ Moore

Emerging as an elite WR.  Moore is smooth.  With Anderson to take focus off him, he could take another step.

100%

Robbie Anderson

Deep threat, but can do more.  Jets did not use him well.  We will. Anderson has good speed, hands, and fights for the ball in air.  He could be really good in the right system. He thinks this is the right system, which is why he rejected a better offer from the Jets.

100%

Curtis Samuel

Could be the next “Swiss army knife” slot WR—I am not sure we used CS like he should have been used.

100%

Seth Roberts

Slot WR by trade, elusive after the catch, clutch player with suspect hands.  6-2 at age 29.  I did not like this signing, considering the WRs in the draft. Big, one-year contract. ($3+m)

80%

Keith Kirkwood

Was Saints’ 3rd WR (stats) in 2018 in only 8 games, injured in 2019.  At 25, he has upside and this “prove it” season should be a good one.  I think he is a diamond in the rough and should make the roster.  Not sure about his contract amount, so he is likely to be on the bubble in camp.

65%

Pharoh Cooper

Cooper caught 25 passes last season in limited duty; he has strong return skills.  He has a spot on the roster, imo, as a #5 or #6—remember, Brady flirts with 5 WR sets…1 year, reasonable contract ($1.3m or so)

65%

Brandon Zylstra

He is my dark horse, but he was impressive in limited duty last seasons.  A possession WR, would have to get some breaks to see a roster spot.  However, he has a shot, based on last season.

20

DeAndrew White

At 28 in his third season, he was brought back as camp fodder, but he did flash in preseason enough last year to get a close look in camp.

5

Analysis:  The Panthers seem financially committed to the top 4 WRs and have some young, talented, veteran WRs in Cooper and Kirkwood.  That is six.  If we draft a WR, someone will need to be cut.  With two, potentially-elite WRs in Moore and Anderson, and with Samuel at #3, it is hard to see the need to add a WR at this point.  Brady has enough weapons--solid top end (Anderson, Moore), good middle (Samuel, Roberts), and developing young (25) players at the bottom of the WR roster (Kirkwood, Cooper).

There are two ways to look at the deep WR draft---1) yes, the WRs available could make us awesome, but if we select a WR, we don’t select a player at another position where we may have a much bigger need.  2) If everyone is grabbing WRs in this draft, it causes other players to drop—like DTs, CBs, and LBs.

Cooper will 100% make the team due to return skills

Lamb should be the pick , we need a play maker at 7 . He makes the most sense . I don’t want a damn dt we can get one in the 2nd round , lb isn’t an important position and Simmons ain’t even close to Luke or Thomas davis so stop .the only player I’d draft over a wr if he is there is okuduh because he is a solid lock down corner

Panther fans every year think we’re set at the wr position with no name bums like Seth Roberts and Cooper no we are not we don’t have a #1 we have 2#2s that’s why getting ceedee lamb makes the most sense he’s very similar to Julio Jones

I would like trading back to like 12 with LV or 15 with Denver. Pick up some picks in the 2nd or 3rd round this year, maybe some ammo next year for a Potential trade up for Lawrence. And then still have the Chances to Pick up Jeudy, Lamb or Ruggs or Kinlaw or CJ Henderson, maybe even Brown, Becton or Thomas.

I'm feeling a rare R1 trade down for us.  The needs of the teams between 7 and 12 do not align with ours.  Hell, Brown could still be available in a trade down with Vegas.

Watched so much tape on lamb I’m so impressed !!! But who says we’re going to take Simmons or brown only ? The media ? Just something we are use to from our past with rivera as hc ? We have an offensive coach I wouldn’t knock out us from getting lamb , my question is why the heck not guy is insanely good but it’s a big wr draft with ruggs , Jefferson , jeudy , tee higgins as well going in the 1st . Lambs clearly my favorite and I would be furious to see a team outside the top 10 get him because this is one of the most talented drafts I have ever seen . Just hope we don’t mess this up by getting a dt or lb which ones no Aaron Donald and ones can’t even hold Luke’s jock strap idc about you Clemson boys it would be a big mistake taking that poor mans Shaq Thompson with the 7th lb is an old football position just like running back  . You can get solid value in later rounds , first round you need an all star we are at #7 get lamb !!!! He’s one solid player that will be our leading wr . If we are  rebuilding this team let’s go offensive heavy and save defense for next years draft . Get some play makers . Stop being so complacent no is is scared of Robby Anderson and dj Moore and most other fans barely know who Curtis Samuel is ! Get a star like Cee Dee lamb

The only player that I'm interested in at 7 that doesn't play in the trenches is Okuda...I DO NOT want a WO that early.

Trade back if you want WO, it's the strength of this draft, and we are in need of picks since we have Hurney at the helm.

I agree. We’ve set ourselves at WR in FA to focus on bigger needs in the trenches and the secondary. If we can facilitate a trade for Lamb or Jeudy while stockpiling draft picks and not losing out on a good player, all the better.
