Tua Tagovailoa

Draft Trevor Lawrence.  You now have:

-QB Trevor Lawrence on a rookie contract

-QB Tua Tagovailoa on a rookie contract

-QB Teddy Bridgewater with one year left at ~17 million

Even an inept front office aught to be able to trade/convert that into something nice.  Doesn't sound like a bad situation whatsoever, considering where we sit today.

Not the traditional way to land a franchise quarterback, but "drafting them all and figuring it out" sounds great to me at the moment...  (especially considering the 2020 season is still TBD)

That's what I would do too. It's basically how the Cardinals ended up with Kyler Murray at #1 overall after drafting Josh Rosen #10 overall the previous year. Then they traded Rosen to Miami for #62 last year and a 5th round pick this year. Not great return for the #10 pick to say the least, but you gotta keep swinging until you find a QB.

Miami is trading to #3 and picking Tua, can we please close this thread?

Sources: The #Dolphins have called the teams in front of them for a possible trade up from No. 5 and are gauging the price to come up to No. 3 to potentially take an offensive tackle. We could see a run on tackles in the Top 10 like never before.

Everyone  and their mom knows that's for a QB and not a tackle.

I don't believe this at all...no reason to trade up for a player you can land at 5

I could see them trying to use 18 and a first next year to trade to 3 or 4.....take Tua at 3 and a tackle of their choice at 5 to protect Tua

You guys wanna make some money?

Place a prop bet that Miami trades up to #3 and takes Tua. I won't charge you anything.

So what are they trading to move up to #3 when they could very likely get Tua at #5 as it stands now?

If they do that, it means they are scared that someone will jump them at 5 for Tua.  Nobody above them needs a QB.

They have two other #1's to play with.  So what's your thinking before I take your get rich quick advice over ESPN's Ian Rappaport's intel?

They're reportedly trying to get up to #3 without giving up #5.

That's some balls.

you know how much mf draft capital that team has? you think they're gonna stay put and draft 14 dudes?

ever hear of a smoke screen? a team will trade up and do anything to make sure they solidify their guy. Look at the Bears when they did it with Trubisky.

Exactly.  They are trying to get to #3 with their #18 and #26.  That likely won't do it, but it makes sense.  Then they can ABSOLUTELY guarantee Tua and a top OT.  But that's not what is being discussed above.

I asked what they were going to do, since you guaranteed I can get rich quick.  I have my money ready, tell me what the Dolphins specific move is so I can take your advice and retire tomorrow.
