True? No idea, but it's certainly plausible.

It's always possible. Gotta take everything leading up to the draft with a mountain of salt.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but prior to drafting Christian McCaffrey, we added his former Stanford position coach Lance Taylor to the coaching staff.

This offseason, besides Special Teams Coach Chase Blackburn the only other assistant we retained from Ron Rivera's staff was McCaffrey's Panthers position coach, Jake Peetz, but he was moved to Quarterback Coach.

What's significant about that?

Peetz previously worked with quarterbacks at the University of Alabama.

Guess who one of those quarterbacks was?

Tua is a really good passer. Very accurate. His biggest problem and why he gets injured so much is because he thinks he is a better athlete than he is and gets hurt trying to take off and run or by time. As a pocket passer Tua is amazing, he has special touch on the ball. He throws WR's open unlike Herbet who needs to see it first.

He would fit Joe Brady's system really good.

Drew Brees changed his game a lot, became less of a scrambler/runner especially after the shoulder injury. It made him a better QB although Greg Hardy did get a hold of him and twisted him up like a pretzel. Drew was tough enough to finish that game.

Tua absolutely needs to change like Drew did to survive in the NFL.

Had no idea. Interesting twist.

Jordan Love is the 2020 Jake Locker: drafted higher than he should be by a team reaching. Hopefully not us.

Not excusing Locker but sometimes good QBs land in bad organizations that probably lack the best QB developers. Supposedly Brady is that guy, I'd let him earn his money, Herbert, Tua or Love. If he could do half of what he did for Burrow even Jordan Love should be a safe pick.

I'm not looking for the next Cam Newton when we can win with somebody a little better than Jake Delhomme. I've seen us without a true franchise QB before. I don't want to go through that crap again.

QB is so important we've got to put ourselves out there and get one. You never know.

Seriously starting to think Tua is going to fall.  Maybe to the 20s or beyond.

Brown at #7 and Tua at #38= winning the draft.

It's going to be hard for Marty not to pull the trigger if Herbert is there at #7 though.

If Tua was there at #38 he'd definitely be worth the risk. I've already conditioned myself to expect absolutely nothing out of Hurney 2nd rounders anyway.

Im not buying the recent report of Tua falling, even the ones with him falling to the 2nd LOL! I still think hes the 3rd player drafted, about 90% sure. If Tua is there at #7, I see no issue with him being the pick. NFl has been over-protecting QBs and Tua would benefit ......so long hes old enough.

If true must be less than a handful of teams with the desire and a corresponding pick/need....

....which 2 or 3 teams are your sources accruing said subterfuge to?

Just not seeing it man...he wasn't a perfect prospect to begin with and the injuries are red flags you cant ignore.  Love his character and if he stays healthy he will help a team but not that early in the draft.  He will drop.

If any fanbase can recognize how an injury prone QB impacts franchises it should be us.  Cam doesn’t even have suitors man.

I view this as the normal draft lying talk couple weeks before the event. We will see. Herberts agent working the media, as he should.
