The problem with having a QB that isn't accurate and isn't cerebral, is that they will make costly mistakes.

Cam was a special QB, but I simply just value accuracy, IQ and leadership more than the highlight reel stuff.

IMHO, a true franchise QB needs to have all of these characteristics in some measure along with adaptability and willingness to learn. Some things can be taught. Some things are innate and not overly given to change. There is no greater or more important position in any sport than the QB position in the NFL.

What kind of production would Teddy have to put up in order for you to come on here and admit you were wrong and misjudged his ability and potential?

he would have to play longer than all of the Quarterbacks available at the top of this draft.

You attacking Cams IQ makes you look like a complete tool. “Not Smart” Do you know the man on a personal level. How do you know how smart he is? Can you provide evidence other than the way he speaks?

And this BS about his leadership is ridiculous. Cam put his body on the line every game. Any teammate he ever had that wasn’t MeAngelo has praised the man. He brought the Panthers confidence and arrogance. Something our aw shucks perennial 7-9  franchise has never had.

Whats next. You’re gonna say he can’t read a defense either.

Please welcome Colin Cowherd to the board everyone.

Cam is the best QB we have ever had and it's not even close. Even if you don't like his playing style, it's still not close to the next Jag in line, including current roster.

Bad olines, bad recievers, bad OC in Shula and still he helped us be competitive. I understand that he can be critieqed but anyone that believed he wasn't a franchise QB is Cowturd level pathetic and I have to question if this crowd of Cowturds even watched him play.

What's next, CMC wasn't a great running back because he spent to much time catching the ball and not running it more? Complete bullcrap

So Terry Bradshaw wasn’t a franchise QB because his IQ isn’t the highest?? Bradshaw also threw a lot of INTs. Just trying to figure out this way of thinking....

The league MVP wasn’t a franchise QB? That just seems odd to even type. I get he hovered below 60% accuracy, but considering his WRs were top of the league in drops I can give him the 3% of whatever the difference is... The problem people are making is they only look at his passing numbers. You can’t do that with him. He scored so many TDs on the ground. Lamar Jackson and Mike Vick are and were both franchise QBs. Brett Favre and Rivers make plenty of dumb decisions with the ball (both franchise QBs) They aren’t afraid to make the higher risk throws. It’s part of what made them make those jaw dropping passes. High risk high reward throws are part of the gunslinger style of play.

A franchise QB is a QB that your build your franchise around. You run your offense to their strengths and have success doing so. That’s why we evolved and used the read option plays. Similar to the offense the Ravens installed for Jackson. You might not like Cam’s style of play, but we was still considered a franchise QB.

I was going to type out something similar but decided it wasn't worth it. Pie for you for taking the time. People really believe that Franchise QBs grow on trees and that every Qb is a natural born leader and that just isnt true.  Being a Qb on the field is only half the battle, these people fail to realize this.

It's pretty simple.

I value accuracy, fball IQ and leadership above all for the QB position.

All it takes is a decent QB to win a superbowl if you have an amazing D.

You don't need a franchise QB to win titles.

So Bradshaw is a HOFer, but not a franchise QB...  Makes no sense, but that’s your opinion.

Lol. This is how delusional Marty is. The article mentions that the downside of Newton playing out his last year is that if he got hurt it would scuttle another season. Amazing that they honestly think we could be competitive this year and even more amazing is there doesn’t even appear to be a thought about just playing for the top pick next year, actually saving cap space and maxing out comp picks. It’s like that thought process isn’t even a possibility. That’s what happens when you have a lame duck running the team. Same with Ron last year, kept putting Cam out when everyone knew he was hurt. Don’t care if Cam his anything, it was ridiculously obvious. We did the same with Daryl Williams in 2018, might have even ruined his career. Lame ducks just try to be competitive and we are literally going to miss out on a chance to be the dominant team for years after Brees and Brady retire and Ryan is almost 40.

I'm pretty sure Marty still thinks we can be competitive this year.
