I really want to like this signing, its just hard to like anything this FO is doing this year.

I'd like the additions of Okung and Anderson if we still had Cam. But, Okung is a bandaid just like Teddy and Anderson's primary strength is stretching the field and we already have two guys who can do that and a QB who is a below average at best deep thrower.

I can't get behind that 100%, I wish Cam was here as much as anyone, but in MIN his first two years they weren't really the stock of the league at receiver, Cordarell Patterson, Thielien (before he made a name for himself in 2017), Charles Johsnon, and , Jrariyus Wright,  rookie Diggs, and old Greg Jennings & Mike Wallace. They also ran a WCO in the passing game if memory serves.

Not to mention that was an Adrian Peterson HEAVY offense, I will reserve some judgement until I see him in this offense.

We needed a guy like Anderson as that opens up 1) the run game and keeps teams from stacking the box vs CMC, and 2) it opens up the short to intermediate routes our offense will likely feature. TB ''Two Gloves'' wasn't a bust as a first rounder he suffered a crazy knee injury. Even as NO's signal caller, they don't really feature a deep passing game, they take shots like anyone else but that isn't the basis. It's more about getting the ball out, keeping the QB upright, working the mismatch and YAC.

Teddy was a 1st round talent, and has the arm to connect deep with, this isn't a UDFA that guys here were anointing after 4 games. Teddy actually has legit seasons worth of tape to review if you go back, and take the time to see what he offers.

Also watching Anderson last year, I think he has added a lot more to his game than just a deep threat. He really looks like a complete receiver last year.

He has been type cast a bit, I think people forget a guy like Ginn and how his speed led to soft coverage that allowed him to run routes like the short post, deep comebacks on the perimeter, and simple crossing patterns. There was 0 supporting cast in NY, Moore is a legit 1K threat, and Samuel would have pushed that if Allen wasn't consistently under-throwing him.

Losing Cam is like getting d*** kicked on the daily, but damn if we don't have a nice cast at receiver, and obviously with CMC at HB. There's real reason to be excited about the offense. I can't wait to see how the draft pulls it all together, plus the late FA additions.

Please all you cam huggers just stop crying. Cam for the most part was our offense weapon and shame on the coaches for not surrounding him with talent while he was here but even at his best he still was not a great passer of the football. Those coaches are gone and so is cam ,move on. Offense is going to be good next season as a life long panther fan I am excited about this offense after watching Stale offense for as long as I can remember.

Kyle Allen threw for more yards and Tds than Teddy ever did in his 2 seasons as a starter. Teddy was barely hitting the 3k passing mark, I mean in his 2nd season he only threw for 2900 yards lol. And he has never thrown over 14 TDs in a single season. We know what Teddy is. We've seen it. Expecting someone to transform into something they have not done or shown they can do on a consistent basis isnt exactly a recipie for success. Even in his 5 starts with the Saints last year it was more of the same that he did in Minnesota. Not saying it's a bad thing but Teddy is definitely a game manager style Qb who likely will never be a great/consistent deep thrower and likely isnt going to be a Qb that can put the team on his back and carry them across the finish line when they need him too

    • yeah. winter backpacking trips were the most miserable and amazing experiences. same with the coldest and snowiest hunting  experiences. i love being in it. makes for incredible memories. the worse it was, the more i ended up loving it. made the greatest memories.  i just want to get out of it afterwards.
    • I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite.  The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'.  Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up.  And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud.  I believe both rumors.
    • I went on a solo elk hunt in the Flat Tops. It was awesomely miserable. LOL It was a late season hunt, I think third season and it was forecasted to snap off cold with highs in the upper thirties and lows in the single digits. fug it, I'm going anyway. They were wrong. The highs were in the low 20s and the lows were in the negative teens. I shivered so hard the first night I thought my teeth were going to break. It was the only time I've ever been legit concerned that I might be in trouble. Crawled out of my sleeping bag and got a fire started and suffered through the night bundled up next to the fire. I slept the next two nights literally wearing every stitch of clothing I'd brought with Nalgenes full of near boiling water in the bottom of my sleeping bag. That was the only way to have non-frozen water in the morning anyway. There was about a foot of snow on the ground and the melt/freeze crust was almost enough to support your weight but you'd go crashing through just as you went or make your step. It was exhausting travel and every step sounded like a rifle shot. Hunting was basically impossible. I never saw an elk in those four days, only saw 5-6 deer. LOL It was brutal but I loved it. Absolutely beautiful country that is never been to before and haven't been back since. I needed that four day complete break from society fighting for my life against the elements. I'm weird like that.
