If we don’t trade down...Brown will be our pick.

I don't see Short as part of our foundation. Honestly, I think he's the biggest cap liability on the roster.

And with the limitations on physicals, it’s going to be a pain to try and trade him.

If Okudah is there I think he's the pick over Brown. I like Brown, but I think it's easier to find a run stuffing DT than it is to find an elite level CB. Simmons is tempting too, but of the 3, I think Okudah would make the most difference. Action Jackson as our top CB is a scary thought going into training camp, whenever that ends up being.

After that "Hurney special" restructure last year, trading him would be painful anyway. We'd only save about $2M in cap space. Honestly, with only $2M to save I'd rather have him on the roster. Unless he has a real bounce back season, he'll be gone next year when we can save $9M. Maybe Panthers North (Bills) or Panthers Mid-Atlantic (Redskins) would be willing to toss us a late rounder for him then.

LOL at using NFL’s draft grades! Aaron Donald got 5.9 and in his profile his projected round has him going at 4-5.

You don’t use the 7th pick on defense for a guy like Brown. You can find run stuffers on the FA market for cheap. You can’t find playmakers like Simmons for cheap. You want a playmaker/difference maker at 7 if you’re going defense.

Given that the point went way over your head I don't think you are in any place to making blanket statements about what any team should do in the draft.

You missed the entire subject matter of what was being discussed based on your answer.

That’s strange. The Panthers spent how much on their DL last year? And how did that work out for the LBs? Now we can find a player like Brown, cheap in FA. Sure.....go with that.

And injuries had NOTHING to do with that...

Gee no sh!t.

KK isn’t going anywhere this year. Everyone knows that.

Im just surprised a lot of people are really high on Brown here. I thought I was higher than most on him. Heck I just heard Peter S. on fox say he believes Kinlaw will be taken over Brown. I just feel like what I am reading and hearing it seems like we could trade back and still get him. No way he is the pick if Simmons or Okudah is there.

I view Brown mainly as a NT and while he's still top iDL for me it's not a position I'd value as highly. He is significantly ahead of the next NT in the draft but I think you can get solid production in that role from a mid round prospect.

You can try and spin it any way you want but you’re the moron that went to the NFL site to get their draft grades to try and prove a point.

Yikes.

They sucked even before injuries. But hey, Kyle Love. McCoy, Butler.Poe till week 11. What’s the problem. If “cheap” FA is all you need, why did they suck?

And giving KK 13M more, just to save 6M next year makes no sense in the position this team is in.

Thats what I have been trying to say. NFL Draft is my hobby, I have watched every bit of Browns tape. He isn't super quick and is not a great pass rusher. He is a good pass rusher, but idk if he is the best value at 7. If you watched real coaches tape and not youtube you would notice. Don't be shocked if he falls a bit in the draft

I just can’t get on board with giving a guy on decline 13M more to save 6M next year. Same with Paradis. Time to cut the losses.

All I care about are cap impacts. I don't care about what has to come out of Tepper's pocket. He can afford it.
