The real question is will we cut him if we don’t get a trade partner?

WTF? He’s on the last year of his rookie deal. He’s cheap and still has potential. Releasing him is stupid and honestly, surprising that anyone would even suggest it. Get a comp pick for him after this year. He’s better than anyone besides Moore and Anderson and cheap. I’d cut Roberts right now if we have to cut a WR.

There isn't any incentive to trade Samuel! Where's the gain? Let's be serious, he has just as much potential as most of the receivers in this draft, and if JB and MR actually put him into a position to succeed, and with Teddy actually going through his progressions and accurately hitting Samuel in space and hopefully stride, everyone's going to see it.

Unless we can give Gettleman a call and tell him, your boy with Daniel Jones will be a future hall of fame player.  Just give us a second, and he is all yours.  lol

The more they say they aren't shopping him, the more I think they are.....

right after we draft Juedy

It's possible.

it's also true that sometimes when a team says they aren't shopping a player, it's because... they aren't shopping that player.

If it were all truth or all lies, it would be much easier to figure out. It's the mixture that makes it difficult.

If Samuel has had contact with Cam you know Tepper and Rhule are gonna get jelly.

Samuel needs to be traded. He will see little snaps now with the addition of Robby Anderson.

You are seriously sleeping on his ability. He hasn't been utilized properly for the most part. Let Brady get his hands on him. 3-4 receiver sets

DJ Moore, Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel ...with those three you have solid options at WR. Not to mention depth.

Throw in CMC .. we are about a TE away from being "potentially" unstoppable on Offense IMO.

Shopping WR’s on rookie deals that have extremely high upside yea ok with Joe “Passing Game” Brady in his first OC position. Come on guys let’s be realistic and reasonable.

The “on rookie deal” aspect doesn’t apply much here... He has 1 year left and I think we can all agree we won’t be competing this year. If he balls out we’ll have to pay him or let him walk for nothing. If he doesn’t we may not even want to keep him. A trade now could be better than either of those scenarios depending on the return. I don’t think the return will be worth it, but there’s something to be said for the idea of seeing what offers would be out there for him.

True, except if he does have a good year, then you have the choice of resigning him or letting him walk and recouping a good comp pick. We also don't have any committment to Anderson after this year, so you also have the choice of cutting Anderson with minimal dead cap and using the savings on resigning Samuel in the event he outplays Anderson. Whatever you get in a trade now would at best be equivalent to a comp pick the following year, but more likely worse (Roberts is likely equating to a 6th round comp.. let that sink in). Unless you're just desperate to get a 6th rounder this year, doesn't make a lot of sense.

    • The only TEs from that last year's group under contract for next season are Ja'Tavion Sanders and Jordan Matthews. James Mitchell and Dominique Dafney are under reserve contracts. The team announced that they're going to let Tommy Tremble test free agency. Feleipe Franks is an unrestricted free agent. Ian Thomas is a likely cap casualty.
