Surprised no one had seen this trade rumor

This. Moore is an emerging elite WR on a cheap rookie contract and we control his rights for three more years. That's the type of guy you DON'T give up unless someone is willing to blow you away with an offer.

What would be “blown away” for you, out of curiosity? I wouldn’t hang up the phone if a team called with two 1sts on the table. I can’t see a team doing that but I would seriously consider it. Think about it, will we be competing for a SB before Moore is on a new huge contract? I doubt it. And teams don’t really win SBs with big money WRs lately. I love Moore but he’s hardly a locked in top WR yet, and I’d consider loading up on draft assets for him while we tank (if that’s what we’re doing).

Only player that is untouchable in my opinion is McCaffrey. It would take a Herschel Walker deal for me to trade him. He’s a potential top 5-10 all time RB, you don’t just give that kind of talent away. No one else on the team right now is even a top 5-10 current player at their position and for the right deal should be available.

Two 1sts would definitely be tempting. I'd say that for CMC too, only because I'm not in love with the idea of backing up the Brinks truck to give a RB a huge second contract. Those rarely pay off for the team that inks them.

Well honestly, if we could pick up two 1sts and two 2nds for Moore and Teddy somehow and then blatantly tank for Trevor and ensure we get him, I would do that easily. Normally I’d say zero chance we trade Teddy who we just signed but with everything that has happened with this team lately, I wouldn’t rule it out as stupid as it sounds.

If that were the plan, I'd be all for it.  Two 1sts and two 2nds for them is likely a pipe dream though

No way I trade Moore without getting a nice return, like a 1st and 2nd....

I am not saying to, but I could see Teddy being traded next offseason. We have talent on offense, but not much in defense. Say we get into high scoring shootouts all year, and Teddy post some really good numbers, but the team loses most games going like 2-14 on the season. I could see a scenario where we trade Teddy for draft capital, then draft Lawrence.

That, or a shitty offer and your name is O'Brian :shades:

Teddy and DJ as a package deal for a 1st, a 2nd, and a starter...

...and then sign FA Cam Newton for $8mil/yr.  :)

First, check the source. Anyone can post a video on YouTube.

Second, does it make any sense whatsoever? Nope.

Third, could it just be someone who is sitting at home coming up with crazy ideas? Yep.

Fourth, could there be upper management at the Panthers and another team both sitting at home, bored out of their minds and coming up with something this crazy? Right now, I wouldn't put it past anyone.

These are strange days, indeed.

Ridiculous. But so is cutting Cam and replacing him with teddy bridgewater, so anything is possible.

I’m confused what y’all expected from Cam will probably play eight games max if he even plays. We don’t know how the shoulder will hold up. We know TB can win games by delivering good accurate passes that’s the description and he fits it perfectly. If he’s check down Teddy then we’re F.... good cuz our check down option is absolutely amazing with the ball in his hands.

Exactly.

So you two rather play the wait and see if he can do it game like last year because that seemed like a wasted year if you remember back he said himself his shoulder hurt like a muth.... after each of the first two games what would you expect after six games? We’re in a way better position to win with TB running the show our WR’s are probably ecstatic thinking of his accuracy. Robbie A signed here specifically because he wanted to play with TB just putting evidence behind my claims. We’re going to miss Cam but it was time to move on these weapons want on time accurate passes that lead you something Kyle was doing during his four game run before he fell off a dam cliff last year.

Nothing would surprise me at this point.  Some people still didn’t think Cam would be released as late as last week and some could see the writing on the wall.   We have  entered the Daniel Snyder zone in Panther Land.

No, not quite the Daniel Snyder zone, or even the Al Davis and Sprout Davis zone. I think there is a definite plan in Carolina and we're seeing it played out (with some bumps), we're just not privy to the background conversations and negotiations.

I mean, in the Cam deal the unsexy, but most likely case, is that it comes down to Cam didn't want to play without an extension and more money. The team wanted him, but was wanted to treat his last contract year as a "prove it" year considering how the last three seasons turned out. Neither would, or could, budge and in a QB heavy and risk averse free agency period both were stuck looking at nothing really happening. Cam doesn't want just $19 million, and the team doesn't want to either give a longer contract with guarantees OR risk having a celebrity player sit out of training camps as we install an entirely new coaching staff and playbook. So, divorce it is and no one looks good.

There's probably no conspiracy behind the massive number of free agents we let go of. It's not necessarily about comp picks, it probably has a lot to do simply with the fact that a team coming off of three disappointing seasons probably shouldn't keep around the same guys who have been lackluster.

No conspiracy for Luke's retirement, either. It was neither a slight to the Panthers nor falling on the sword at the loss of Ron Rivera. It's just a very smart young man who can read and understand things (like defenses and medical reports) saying, "I've had all my body can and should take. I've got enough money to take care of myself and my family for life. Thank you, I'm retiring while I still can function and I've appreciated it all."

None of this has that crazy ass Daniel Snyder feel to it. Bringing in big time names and vastly overpaying them, now that's the Daniel Snyder way, with the cherry on the top of getting absolutely no performance for the dough.
