Greatest Panthers By Position

Will Witherspoon did more as OLB for the Panthers than Kevin Greene. He is vastly underappreciated for his time here, and the guy was a certifiable genius.

Also, I think that if Jordan Carstens hadn't had medical issues, he'd have been one of our greatest DTs ever. That was one of the country strongest players we've ever had. Brentson Buckner was also great in his own way, as one of the dirtiest linemen in the history of the NFL -- he was the master of the double catch and don't release method of tying up the interior of the line. That guy committed more holds than the entire Raiders team from 1988-1996, but was only called for about a dozen of them.

That’s a tough one. Id still put Beason just above Morgan or equal though. Different game same position. We need to draft a MLB though this draft. We’ve never not had a MLB from the draft(that was best in class). I’m not convinced they are gonna put Shaq in the middle even though he’ll probably be calling the defense this season. I see him calling from the OLB position.

((that said I do think Shaq is going to ball out this season))

Sam Mills/Carlton Bailey/Mike Barrow/Dean Wells in the 90s, Lester Towns in 2000-2001... none of them drafted. Just saying.

Might be right about Witherspoon.  In my head I always think of him as a MLB.

Morgan had a lot of talent.  Damn we had some great LBs here.  Beason was a tackle machine, main reason I went with him

I would put our MLBs here in 25 years up against the Bears--the team known for MLBs---and their 100 year history.  Full stop.
