It’s not a waste of money to ask a lawyer if possible in a consultation, or if you have a lawyer friend and then go to the EEOC. If there’s a credible complaint the key is to get it to the EEOC as quick as possible, if they say ya we’re going to do something then lawyer up and make sure you can get the max.

Sure but the first thing a lawyer is gonna say is pay $300 for the consultation. After that they are going to remind you that you are in at at will state so it it will be tough. Can you get decent evidence? If not meeting over. If you have decent evidence then sure follow it through.

You can go to the EEOC website and look at current cases. I'm too lazy right now but I might see what kind of sexual discrimination cases they have taken on.

Point stands: If you have evidence sure. If not move on. If it's not a protected class game over. We didn't like her hygiene, social media tendencies, or hair color that is probably allowed.

It's not difficult at all to get a free consultation to see if you have a case.

In the first lawsuit, the EEOC charged that Bay Country's owner repeatedly used racial slurs and fired a secretary in retaliation for her opposition to the racial harassment (EEOC v. Bay Country Professional Concrete LLC, Civil Action No. 1:19-cv-02846-ELH).

Might be the closest one.

If lady has anything close to that fire it up.

4th try today on the unemployment  site.  Still can't file.  :-(

Idk if it matters but maybe try outside of peak hours? I don’t know if anyone else can comment on that being a thing with the NC unemployment site or not.

Sorry for the folks in here that are struggling.

Any business less than 500 employees that's not holding on to their people and filling for a PPP loan is honestly not worth working for.

We got our application in today and with a little luck we will keep our folks paychecks flowing and cover the slowdown till mid to late fall

My wife signed up yesterday, started a little after 6am, and it took about 3 hours total.  She kept getting kicked out, but would just refresh the page, sometimes it took multiple refreshes, but eventually  it would go right back to where she was and she would keep going. Very frustrating, but she managed.

I filed on March 18th- and put in 2 other weekly claims - at all times it was frustratingly bad  and took no less than an hour or more each time. I still don't know and  can not tell from their shitty web site if they are going to give me anything or not - because I don't know and can not tell if I filled out the forms correctly.  E mailing and calling is futile.  Absolutely a clusterfug by the state of NC. The least they could do is send out an e mail or something telling you they are behind on their claims,  but as soon as they get to yours you are going to get so much or something - give folks some kind of hope.

And I just tried to call again today.  Why with all the poo gong on do they not have people manning the phones on the week end !  People got bills to pay and have to eat !

You may want to see if you can sign up for medicaid in lieu of your health insurance.

off peak hours is only somewhat less shitty and apparently they don't give a fug enough at the state des that hundreds of thousands of folks may not have a dime to spare, to up their staff and start handling cases and phone calls on the week ends.
