I'd demand #12 and #19, then we could talk. Moving down from #7 to #12 for a second next year and another 2020 third isn't worth the risk.

I agree NC fan I think the 7th pick we don't net enough draft capital back, but for the Espensa I think Sea would ask for more

Not a fan of Epenesa. His bad combine reminds me of Zach Allen. Great college player who isn’t going to be a great pro. Rather have one of the tier 2 DTs there (Brown and Kinlaw tier 1) and someone besides Kinlaw at 12.

Epenesa's combine was bad, but outside the 40 it wasnt near Allen bad.

Additionally Epenesa's game film is lightyears better than Allen.

Hurney will nail the 1st and then start dipping into his scotch.  It all downhill from there

And some people will laud him for taking Simmons, Okudah or Brown as if he didn’t just luck into a good spot.

He probably won’t drop to the 3rd either but he gives me those vibes. Beating Austin Jackson like a drum may not be as impressive when we see how Jackson plays in the NFL.

Dont think they'd ask for to much more.

Its about on par with past trades.  Actually one of NFL.com writers posted his this morning.  Where we traded a few spots higher to 25, while also only giving up a 3rd and 5th.

Jackson wasnt the only one he beat like a drum.

Jackson's concerns leaving the combine was his edge speed.  That left the comparisons to Calais Campbell who has played 4-3 DE, 3-4DE, and DT in this league.  Both rely mostly on power.  Thats actually why he fits more Multiples 4-3 D.  SDE in multiple defense's are more power guys, use Wise Jr for example in New England.

Am I the only one that feels we are still thin at TE? I feel with the lack of quality O line depth, Rhule may use multiple TE sets as blockers. Newton thrived when we used 2 TE sets with Shock and Olsen

Joe Brady runs 3-4 WR set meaning 1 TE.

Ron Rivera ran 2 TE sets, Olsen and Manhurtz.

So really, we are sitting good at TE right now.

It s hard to miss on a top 10 pick which Hurney gets too much credit .   A good Gm will hit  good talent on the rest of the draft where Hurney has less credit .  this is a make or break year for him .  I hope Rhule will step in and select his players that suits what he wants to run .  It will surely be an interesting year for the Panthers .

He has some athletic limitations that usually don't track towards great NFL success.

Calais Campbell- 6'7 290,

5.11 40, 16 bench, 29.5 vert, 111 broad, 4.69 shuttle, 7.45 3 cone

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Epenesa - 6'5 275

5.04, 17 bench, 32.5 vert, 117 broad,  4.46 shuttle, 7.34 3 cone.

Everyone knew who watched film, that he wasnt a speed freak.  Now was he a tad slower in the 40 than some thought? Yes, I thought itd be closer in the 4.8s.  But freak speed doesnt mean your going to be successful either.  If that were that case Emmanuel Ogbah would be an all-pro.

Epenesa wins and is successful in other ways, similar to Calais Campbell.  This why some have that comp for him.  His play power, length, and technique is why he will be successful.  Those with his tools is why he is a perfect fit at SDE in a more multiple 4-3..
