Bridgewater demonstrated the ability to read defenses and run a pro style system back when he was in college. The biggest question I had about him was whether his body could hold up to the kind of beating he'd take as a pro.

When he got injured so badly in Minnesota, that looked like a valid concern. But since then he's worked his way back from it and was able to play efficiently for the Saints last season. That's also a pleasant surprise since he looked like dog flop in the season ending game against Kyle Allen.

Here's hoping he and Brady work well together.

keep in mind the knee was a freak non-contact injury.  He played 2 years behind a horrible offensive line and has been knocked around his entire career and been just fine.  Not to mention returning from an injury that would've ended careers for most.  He's physically tough with a HUGE heart and more determination than most.

Seems like he picked a team without high expectations, a guaranteed starting job, and enough money to set himself up well if he makes it through the deal.

With the panthers being what they are, even if he's a sub 500starter next season and we move on to a new QB he still should be able to find himself a backup job.

Yep that's Teddy all right!  Always scheming and calculating to find the best thing for him and his bank account.  Using up teams and spitting them out to serve ol' #1.  Apparently Teddy's reputation precedes him!

Why are you going to make me go rewatch that game. UGH!

another thing to keep in mind on that Saints-Panthers game, and is not a fair gauge to measure who will be under the Panther helmet this year.  That was Teddy's literal first game in 3 years after that knee injury, playing behind 2nd and 3rd stringers who really didn't care if they won or lost at that point.  Sean Payton was the first one attacking his players for their performance after that and defended Teddy in understanding the entire situation.  A position that was backed up by him offering Teddy the biggest contract for a #2 in the NFL and starting him 5 games in a row that year to go 5-0.  So he obviously wasn't just being kind with his words.

Out of his own mouth he said the Panthers team gives him an opportunity to prove he belongs in this league.

The fact that you think a free agent wouldn't pick a team that offers him the chance to start and put food on the table says all I need to know about you.

"Success" might be a relative term.

If he serves as a good fill in and mentor while the team prepares their next franchise quarterback, then after that slides into the backup role, is that a success?

I'd say that's better than what happens to a lot of guys, so for me it's a yes. Others might disagree.

Win-loss record next year in your opinion?

You do realize Big Time Teddy got hurt on a fluke no-contact play during practice due to a flaw in the turf...

...right?

I hate that he played the race card already.

Bridgewater on the injury with Vikings: "From the moment I was on the ground screaming in pain it was part of a race. Life is a race and you have to focus on what it is your lane. It was a race I had to finish. I haven't completed the race but I am back in it."

He seems to be a racist.

(It's OK--the Huddle is where calling someone a racist is the norm)

These 6 players account for just $40M of combined average salary, w/ four still on rookie contracts. It’s could be a quick rebuild in Carolina if this group can gel.

The new-look Panthers offense: QB: Teddy Bridgewater RB: Christian McCaffrey WR: D.J. Moore, Robby Anderson, Curtis Samuel TE: Ian Thomas Explosive and fast group that will be really, really good after the catch.
