Cam Newton: "They gave up on me"

I just about 96% guarantee you that Christian McCaffrey will not allow himself to be played.  As a matter of fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he hasn't already started looking around for the eject handle.

Unfortunately, Cam and his family were naive.  I bet they aren't anymore though.  And I *know* the McCaffrey family knows how to spot disease and dirt in an organization from a mile away.

After 5 years, if still healthy, dude can play for any team he wants to, likely as the highest paid RB in the league.  It might be possible he'll want to play for someone more... let's say... LOYAL.

Exactly why I've pleaded on this site for Tepper to behave himself. Nobody in this community (Charlotte) favors the wall street cutthroat, not caring about other humans attitude. Yes, the Panthers were a family, mom and pop shop. There is nothing wrong with fans demanding honesty and respect towards our players and fans. When you leak to the media to play mind games, NOBODY appreciates it, except for lapdog media members eager for self cred. Too many see this franchise now as disfunctional, bungling.

NOBODY wants to play for an a-hole they can't trust. Including CMC. Take that sht back to wall street.

For all of those you prayed for the teardown of this franchise, the NFL just hooked you up with the guy to do that. Just wait until its stadium time. This is the guy that WILL threaten to move the team.

Demand better folks. Media needs to step up and unlock their jaws from Teppers gonads, or at least come up for air.

When the Head Coach/GM/Owner of this franchise noticed, as we ALL did in 2018, that Cam's shoulder was visibly and obviously preventing him from "not being able to play through it", what did they do?

Again, all of you are acting like his coaches, management, and ownership were deaf, dumb, and blind in this

Yes...he couldn't play through...that's what I said

The day you you get a job. Particularly a job you like. A job at a shitty organization, but you were identified and recruited because your "skills and knowledge" were considered important in the turnaround of the fortunes of the organization. Then you get fired before you've accomplished your goals over superficial reasons and due to a change in management structure, is the day you might have a wiff of an idea of what Newton is experiencing.

On another note, I noticed MVPccaffrey liked your post. I have wondered what name she'll change to when McCaffrey gets traded prematurely?

Dude, I'm not sure how old you are or how long you've been watching football, but here's something you should probably understand.

Every player in the NFL is a commodity, and the vast majority of them depart the NFL without achieving their goals.

To be frank, the team's priority is not to ensure that the players achieve their personal best. It's to win football games.

If they think a player can help them do that, they keep them. If not, they don't.

For longtime players, when there comes a point that the team believes your ability to contribute to game winning is no longer equal to what your agent is asking for in salary, they're going to part ways with you. And it doesn't really matter whether their judgment is right or wrong, the result is the same.

This is the NFL.

If you want guaranteed happy endings watch a sports movie, because in the real world they're the exception, not the norm.

Yeah... Except none of that's actually true.

Loads of people in Charlotte can (and are) angry about what happened with Newton.

You know what's going to come out of that?

Nothing.

Nobody's going to mount a rebellion to take down Tepper. There's not going to be a mass locker room exodus and players aren't going to refuse to sign here out of protest. Heck, we've signed as many or more free agents this year as any team in the league.

The NFL is a business. Every other team in the league operates like one, and the players know it. For a long time we didn't, but now we do. And that's not going to change.

Bad business Scot. Ive owned a couple businesses. Your reputation matters not what everybody else does.

"It's a business" is no excuse to screw folk who have been good/great employees.

Respect, integrity, honesty, thoughtfulness is how you treat others Scot.

What a wicked world you advocate. Hopefully it'll have mercy on you.
